Default Re: HoDD vs Coercive hood of twisted thoughts

I currently have the 4 set bonus and it is really a tough decision to use the T4 helm. On one hand I do slightly higher dps with the HoDD and on the other my group is better off when I'm in the T4. After looking at ACT my HoDD is doing 1% of my parse. Isn't that small enough to give up to help the whole group/raid? As MT coercer, we are utility first dps second right? If not, why would we spec for heal crit and not STR line? I know the 15% cast speed would help healers in MT regardless of my dps. From a rational point of view, that 1% dps wont save us from a wipe, but the cast speed just might. So those of you without 6 piece bonus yet and working your way up, look at it from whatever angle you want but think what is more important to you. Just my 2 cents.

On a side note, +2 the spell crit bonus on the T4 helm is nice but just how much does it affect your overall dps?

Honestly, I've found it hard to take off my 4-set from since I was first able to make one. Right before I got my helm as the 4th piece, I was playing my mystic alt, grouped up with a coercer who had the 4-set. Wow. What a difference.

For anything that is at all hard for the healers, I'd recommend wearing a 4-set at whatever cost to yourself. (And post- proc nerf it's relatively minor.)

I'd recommend wearing the 4-set at whatever cost to yourself in any scenario.

Grouped with mages? They'll do more dps.
Grouped with healers? They'll heal/cure faster.
Clearing 100% cast haste? Great, can stop hitting chronosiphoning and put that 0.5s cast time to dealing more damage. Not having perpetuality going full bore due to interupt/stun/stifle/having to run and click something will not lower your dps as much either.
Grouped with an illusionist? Can finally tell them your mana regen is better than theirs.

Set bonuses? with the random drops it took MONTHS of killing ahsanti and yekesha to drop a total of 3 shadow chests... let alone the other shadow sets seem ultra rare for us.

why hasnt; it ben made smart loot yet? oh wait the expansion isn't till Febuary? bet we see smart loot on patterns in 6 months...

We've been killing Anashti since late April and have yet to see a shadow chest.

Rumor was that it is currently a very low percentage smart loot and it'll be raised in the next LU, but still not be 100%. I don't remember the exact numbers, though.

Supposedly right now it's 25 and next GU it'll be 50, but we'll see.
