Re: Empathic Aura - yes or no
Str line is a max gain of 500 dps, but trash-only. You can still get 100-200 dps from autoattack without the line, but you can get about 500-600 with it in the mt group. I've seen parses up to about 740 in a very stacked group (double bards), but this is only on trash. Your max hit is about 2k with it, so every spell except Simple Minds has a higher minimum hit than your max melee hit. You get almost no benefit on most named, so this is why I don't really concern myself with it. Plus, the small amount of the named you can use it on have massive damage shields. Proc checks from melee and spells on most damage shields are individual even if they have the same effects, so you'll proc it more often, which isn't worthwhile.
Now, as noted EA is also limited with current gear choices available to healers, so I don't want to say that it's awesome either. I just think that both choices are really up to your playstyle, but both are far from amazing unlike the agi/int lines.

Re: Empathic Aura - yes or no
Maybe after the expansion STA line will be more appealing if they consolidate crits. I'm imaging that all AA's will probably change though.

Re: Empathic Aura - yes or no
My guess is that for those AA lines which give specific types of crits that are not "typical" for the class, instead of giving generalized crit, it'll be either crit bonus of the specified type or a flat improvement to that type of thing along the lines of what they did to the Predator spell crit AAs. Ie, a healer's melee crit AA will be changed to improve melee crit bonus or weapon damage or something along those lines, and Empathic Aura would be heal crit bonus or base heals or something.
So, empathic aura will still probably only benefit heals when they are done with it... though it would be cool if chanters got a DKTM-type group buff.

Ddo you make more dps than that with str line? if yes is there any secret to it? :-)

I'm adding in more than just the melee swing damage. The crush portion is generally upper 500's for me. I also factor in things such as:
- item proc's that proc on both melee and spell attacks, you get more when swinging (signet of betrayal and greater void bane as examples) and many requiring hitting, which str line helps both hit chance and swing rate
- blade chime
- various group melee proc buffs (sk, dirge, inquisitor, etc)
- peace of mind
- etc
On trash mobs in palace I'll periodically hit 14k, typically am in the 10-12k range. Raid dps on trash fights is typically in the 150-170k range.
On fights that end up starting at a bad distance, for whatever reason, and I don't end up getting in range to melee I usually end up around 1k lower than expected.

Palace Trash, was in troub group with an Illy, so got extra peace of mind action, mystic might've been ROA'ing me too, I think he was in my group. Came in second place on trash, first place was assassin at 13.5k, warlock had to play his healer that night.

Re: Empathic Aura - yes or no
Why such low crit? 78%? Were you wearing defensive gear? AFAIK troub DKTM provides like 11% crit so with potion and scroll that's like 18% - I can't imagine someone with 60% crit.
Anyways, for the crit, thats a good parse.

Re: Empathic Aura - yes or no
The troub just recently switched mains from dirge to troub and isn't fully aa'd and I forgot to use scroll / potion for trash. My crit is definitely low though, I think I was around 71% non-buffed.
I recently changed guilds and am getting some actual advancement in gear for the first time since around Christmas. Had a massive stall for awhile, got TSO forearms in November and just now finally got my second piece later the evening of that particular parse I posted.
I've been making up for the lack of good crit gear with reuse and spell crit boost gear. I did do a run with sacrificing all for crit but the loss of those other two resulted in parsing lower as a result. More reuse can really make up for a lower amount of crit and spell mod, though those've been gaining steadily this last month.
My group makeup bounces a lot too, most of the week I'm coercer #2 and so either in OT group for named fights or mage group if the raid makeup allows for such on trash.
I also need to really sit down and math out some multi-variable comparisons against proc items, I had like 9 before the proc nerf and haven't had time to do the necessary analysis. Once that's done though I also didn't previously have access to a lot of gear that I potentially will now, and don't have some that's worthwhile onhand already due to heavy optimizing towards proc's.
Incidentally, a lot of the proc's that I did have previously were ones that proc'd on spell or melee attack, so I'll probably experience a drop off in gain from the str-line as those proc items are phased out.
