Works fine for me as an emergency spell when the MT got a spike - there is usually no ward on at that time :-)
Due to this I have it not macroed with manaflow cause I want it to go in ASAP. Recovery via Consume Thoughs, Mana Shard or Heart followed by Manaflow to those in need.

I just spec'd for it and I'm finding its great. Well, better than the now-useless Thought Snap anyways. A 7800 ward can come in real handy at times.

Works great when soloing as well.

For god's sake remind me to take it off my hotbar and NOT to use it against Anashti :D

It actually is possible to use it without spawning an add, but you have to be extremely precise with your manaflow precast.
