Default Tandem?

So tandem says 48% chance to proc, this DOES mean that it will proc alsmot 1/2 on each spell i cast correct?

Aerilak stated awhile back that % based proc's are normalized to 3.0s. I've seen some people stating it's a 2.5s cast time + 0.5s recovery time that it's normalized to, other's stating it's 3.0s cast time so not sure which is correct there.

Depending on what it's normalizing to you're probably looking at more like 1/6 for our cast times. I wouldn't know though, my illy's are stupid and put it on bards and pets before they put it on the coercers. Oh and don't forget the int/wis and pow buffs, those matter.

Remember that % based procs are normalized to the base casting time, not the actual casting time that includes your +spell casting time bonuses.

So classes with high casting time bonuses (like any enchanter with the AGI tree) are great targets for Tandem.

But... if I put tandem on my pet my parse is a little bit higher. How am I ever going to have great parses if I don't buff my pet first?

And bards are a poor target for Tandem. They mix CA's and spells, and the CA's don't have any chance to proc Tandem.

Meh. You should have maxxed INT, so the INT buff won't help much, and if you need mana as a coercer you've got more problems than a POW buff will fix. I might toss up the INT buff to help scouts, but only if I don't have good Tandem targets.

I disagree that bards are poor targets for Tandem. For example, an illy should never put a group buff up over putting tandem on a bard. However, the "ranking" of who gets tandem they are towards the bottom, and certainly shouldn't get it over another enchanter that is AGI spec'd.

bards #1. dps gain on chanter/summoner vs. dps loss of trub cause they realize their class is boring as fuck.

If you aren't buffing your bards, they're not going to be buffing your raid.

Be happy the class got the overdue fix it needed a while ago and live without tandem.

Bards can get up to 50% of the damage from tandem as another mage, or more depending on how they're geared, but this is talking about an "average" raider with people of equal skill. Of course, a super geared mage will benefit more, because base damage, spell crit chance/bonus, and spell haste all apply to help proc it more, but the difference is usually only a few hundred dps. The best geared mage hits about 800 dps out of tandem, the best geared bard probably about 350; the average geared mage hits about 300, and an average geared bard hits about 150. (These are all approximate of course).
