I have a question about the hemo interrupts. In the few runs I've done so far, this has been my job of course, and I have been told that I could actually see when Varsoon is about to cast his curse - it was said that his hand motions look similar to our recall to city spells. But so far I have been absolutely unable to ever see that, even when maxing the 3 sliders under "Animations" in the display options.

A fellow player said it's visible to him when his general graphics settings are set to Balanced or higher, but I can't do that because my computer is ancient. Does anyone know if there are other options than the ones under "Animations" that would make that casting animation visible for me?

I'm beginning to suspect that I am too stupid to actually recognize the animation.

Anyway, I am always trying to cast hemo whenever it's up because of this - works quite well, I usually only get 2-3 curses in the whole fight, yesterday I managed without curses for the first time. But my dps suffer greatly from this (around half of my zw on that fight).

Move the particle effects slider to 1 or more and you should be able to see it pretty clearly, atleast thats what does it for me, if i have it set at 0 he just stands still, if i set it to 1 i see him cast the thing.

@ Quicaigae: You want to up Max Spell Results Per Character to 1 so you can see his cast animation. Also, increase your particle size a little, because he has blue swirly particles when he's casting it.

The animation doesn't look like your Call spell. It looks more like the /scheme emote. He rubs his hands together in front of not, he doesn't wave them around like we do when Calling.

FYI - Not all tank classes have interrupts. When I tank this encounter on my shadowknight I have to rely on my group to interrupt Varsoon for me.

As to mezzing or burning the adds: I've never tried having them mezzed. I stick the dirge and 2 other people on them, keeping the coercer and myself on the named for interrupts and DPS. After the adds are down, the dirge/DPS switch back to the named until the next add pops. Rinse repeat.

If DPS is low, or the dirge is too drunk to grab the adds fast enough, I snag them with my 50m endline and tank the add with Varsoon. Or sometimes I just help out with spells when I'm bored. The adds room usually puts me to sleep

Our usual group is Guard, Warden, Dirge, Assassin, Ranger, and myself (Coercer).

I don't ever leave target off Varsoon. I will cast hemo every other cast regardless of his animation, it seems as long as I do that there is maybe one time during all 3 rooms he will get an interrupt through. I am sure this has everything to do with how fast your refresh/casting is, but for me that works when I'm not being rebuked.

for the OP: I never mez adds. Why? Because A) its a pain in the ass already with me having to disrupt the curse, B) even in a mix of 5 t3, 2 t2 and decent jewelery w/ choker I provide a steady stream of dps on Varsoon while the other dps burns adds. We usually bring a ranger so he has them burnt down fast enough that if they do get close the tank just changes targets for two seconds and a round of combat from everyone who is targeted through him will kill them. I don't ever leave Varsoon as my target.

Your healer has to be beast mode for our setup to work, but it works for us. I would never go into that fight with a pug because I just have better things to do with my time then worrying about people not paying attention in the razor room. That fight only takes one retard and it turns into a pita.

Thanks Waste and Jellica, I'll fiddle with those settings next time. Also thanks for the notion about /scheme

@ Rigamortis
Right now I'm handling it the same way you are, except that I usually tab to the add in the add room, get a hostage or a spell curse in, and then tab back right away. It's probably not necessary in a group setup with very high dps; but we usually run it with 1-2 different people every time, so our dps vary a bit.
Besides that though, I stay on named and never cast more than 2 spells between hemos (unless they are all fast casts like bewilderment+brainshock+asylum). While running between rooms I usually don't cast anything but hemo.

When running between rooms it's still worth putting asylum and obliterated psyche on him to reduce the chance of an unlucky resist. You can also chronosiphoning him to nerf his cast time.

two quick comments

his casting animation is identical to sonic boom and that is how I show ppl what to look for

the other thing is helps a ton to have macro for hemorrhage
/tar varson
/canel_spellcast
and hemorrhage
I use that and just place it on my number one key and when ever he starts casting hit one key, you have way to much time to get it off and I really don't lose any dps to interupts

Yeah, my group always takes care of the adds and coercer stays on Varsoon to make sure they get the interrupts in.

if you take 4 - 1 STR spec you get an extra interrupt as well. Really it should not be needed.
