Default DPS failings and Issues

I want to FLAME about coercers...

With the talks about the changes of coercers in the new expansion, I would like to see some things FIXED. Probably my biggest issue is +damage. I want convulsions to reflect added damage and +mental damage adornments/procs etc, to add to those type of spellshield/reactives spells that account to the great deal of our DPS.

I keep getting told this will be fixed. And if you haven;t realized this yet put on/take off you sol ro cloak and look at the diff in spell damage... go ahead i will wait.........

I MEAN COME ON... our class fabled shoulders do +spell damage... PLUS! i would kill for the 8% spell crit that the illusionists get. And again.... YELLOW!? How am i supposed to be feared donning a bannana suit (see other thread if you have not already)

I agree. Having +Spell Damage work for reactives will keep me happy for fixing coercer DPS because it it shouldn't be scaled at all. It should be a pure number increase.

It's only logical since cleric reactives receive the benefit from +healing adornments.

Two things I'd like changing:

a) Convulsions should proc on every attack, not every hit. It pisses me off no end that our dps goes down the better the tank is avoiding being hit. It also gets on my tits that we arent allowed to damage green or blue con mobs as much as yellow and orange.

b) Draining power from mobs should have Cataclysmic Mind cause damage. Then both power drains and CM would actually do something ... /gasp

A would turn them into damage shield, but damn do I love the sound of b!

The Convulsions change should happen.

As for the Cataclysmic Mind change, you'd really need to re-balance it. I mean it'd be cool and all, but wow that would be insane damage. Oh look, the enchanters are chain power draining the mob and this Coercer is doing 5k dps. Because that would happen if it was 4x damage of the power drain. You'd be getting 2 10k+ nukes or dots totalling 10k every 30s for every enchanter in the raid. Reason why 10k+, my power drains do 1.5k, and 2k-2.4k with VM/Dark Orb up, you'd get 6k and 8-10k respectively before debuffs, add in debuffs and it'd probably 9k and 12-15k nukes. Something would have to change, it'd probably have to be 50% instead of 400% for power drains, just because of how insane damage you could get by loading your scouts up with mental breach poison, as it'd increase raid-dps more than normal poisons would at 400%.

An example would be that Cataclysmic Mind alone if kept up on Mayong contested would add almost 1000dps. CMayong had a total of 147727 power drained our last fight, which would mean 590908 damage would be done from Cataclysmic Mind, the fight(with 22 people) was 8:17 in duration, 1188dps would be added just from Cataclysmic Mind, and that's without people really trying to drain the mob's power. I mean, scouts poison list a 832 drain for me, which would mean 3.2k damage per time it hits, which is about 2.5x as much as tender poisons list. That dps increase for a raid would be sick. Although, if they made it 50% for power drains, it wouldn't be overpowered at all, and in that fight listed it would only add a total of 148.6 dps.

Although, I just don't see this ever happening, TBH. Pretty sure I've seen this Cataclysmic Mind comment a long time ago though. Of course, an easier way to make power drains, and cataclysmic mind useful is to make them %-based drains, and make epic mobs have power pools that aren't insanely large and make their abilities actually use real amounts of power rather than casting level 1 nukes that use fuck all power. Though, they really don't want to do that at all for some odd reason :\

Orrrr... forget the mob's own (broke as fuck) power use element and go entirely for damage on power drain and make Cataclysmic Mind last 8 to 15 seconds with a 45 sec to 1 min recast or something. Power drains would need to be coordinated, making proccing ones less potent (but still have an impact) and smart people would get more out of it than sloppy fucks. Yay!

At the same time, they could make agility a stat worth buffing again.

Oops, I think I nodded off and started dreaming there.

that would certainly get teh illusionists whining... oh wait they already do, and they get better outfitted Spells, Buffs, AAs for casters...

I say we deserve a temporary INT and casting buff as well.... or even a piercing slashing crusing and str buff just to even it out a little... Or maybe just maybe give coercers a bit more melle prowless to make up in the lack of dps capability between coercers v. illusionists

WELL I /BUG THE SPELL DAMAGE TODAY.... the new Quest Fabled/legendary weaponry from swords of destiny... +75 Spell damage..... sheeesh!
