Default Counterblade

I have heard that counterblade can be extreemly usefull on certain named and their special moves IE the two named in MMIS with the death ae at 10% hp, apparently counterblade works on that.
Has any coercer actualy taken the str line for counterblade to mess around with it ? All all the rumors i hear about it come from illusionists

There's no point in taking counterblade just for those mobs. Why? Because you can stun/stifle it to delay it long enough for people to use stakes or burst DPS to kill it before it goes off.

Aye, even if it was a superior method of defeating those mobs, it certainly isn't worth devoting 24 AA to it.

That indeed used to work. They ninja nerfed it at some point though, so now it's almost completely useless. I had CB for about a month, at the end it wouldn't counter anything but profession abilities, aka nothing.

From what I've read elsewhere, the Str line, including CB, is popular on PvP. I guess that makes sense, since you would be encountering a lot of profession spells from other players, and getting into melee with stunned players could up your dps against them.

Also having Parry/Riposte would help out too.

It is, but I don't think alot is running around with it, since most coercers are in "above average" raid guilds.
During my summervacation, I (luckily) got bumped from MT group to OT/scout group (lovin' it), which allowed me to dump all the deaggro/crit heals crap.

As Exur from Venekor said, it's awesome to slam counterblade in the face of a ice nova'ing mage or some dumb ranger. I wouldn't go STR on PVE server though.
As for epics, it seems pretty damn random, what it counters and what not.
