Anyone else having these issues?

This is really getting annoying and I'm starting to wonder if anyone else is having these issues.

So I'm on my coercer alt who I farm with and he's at lvl 14 (STFU DON'T ASK) and I'm soloing the decrepit crypt instnace in CL. I solo the zone 90% of the time and rarely die, except the last few days I've been dying every time - because of roots.

I drain the mobs power at first and keep him stunned/rooted unitl he has very low power. However, lately the roots have been breaking for no apparent reason, I have no DoT's on the mob nor do I damage him in any way, all I have up is the root. It will AUTOMATICALLY break at random times, ie 7.4 seconds, 8.9 seconds, etc. I do ZERO damage, and the root breaks and I end up dying because root isn't up or he hits me too fast.

WTF?

All the mobs have a chance to resist the full duration of the root. The quality of the spell (adept, master) is what affects this factor. 7 seconds is absurdly fast to break, but not out of the question with a low quality version of the level 5 root.

At higher levels its barely noticeable even with adept I's, but I recall having a bit of trouble with root breaking early at lower levels.

All the spells I use are Adept 3 or Master 1 on that toon, root being Adept 3. Thanks for the explanation though, Revel.

Yeah, I always figured root was like charm, and that it had a recurrent break check, just not as often as charm. That's why I just use mez instead of root when I need to back off. I've had it happen to me in PvP and PvE.
