Both items were from the shared loot table. No special dropped.

the thing is, the game was created for 24 people in a raid setting. this kind of content requires 36. why the hell would you make it to where u are going to have 12 people sitting out and that might be me depending on what spawns. i log in this game to play, not to sit on call. if they want you to have 36 people in guild make raids up to 36 slots.

This encounter shows the cracks in the foundation of eq2 at this moment in time. The dev knew excatly what he was doing when he created this encounter. As of now we are saturated with stats/resists/gear/everything. How is he suspose to make an encounter difficult? More damage to AE that gets mitigate? %based AEs which they have learned people just bitch about? This guy came up with an idea that just made it to where people can never cast. What he failed to realize was that this gave an upper hand to those select few classes that could deal with this sort of thing. Namely every priest that has a group arcane cure and more namely Sanctuary. He further designed it to give an even further penalty to all scouts b/c they simply cant hit invisible adds the way a caster can.

Where the hypocracy lies is that SOE is trying their ass off to make it to where all classes are welcome in the encounters as we have seen with the new raidwide fighter buffs being placed in the game. They then make a fight like this where you are basically excluding half of the character archtypes.

What we see with this encounter is a complete breakdown in communication and game mechanics from point A to point Z. This mob was a product of poor combat system through diminishing return system which forced feedback effects such as stun and stifle, poor choice through creating mobs that gave a huge advantage for casters, poor choice breakdown in thinking of what needed to be done to counteract effects, poor previous itemization in which it was not catered to the fact there is a diminishing returns system, poor avatar spawning system where we cant figure out timelines of anything that happened b/c spawns are completely random and everyone is not give a fair shot at killing them.

This whole encounter was one huge clusterfuck waiting to happen and was a couple years in the making. I feel sorry for this dev b/c he did prolly exactly what he was told to do and understood the combat system well enough to think "well damn this is really one of my only choices"

that really sucks b/c if i have to sit out half the time i want to raid im gonna find a new game where i can play when i want.

I agree with some of what your saying but did SOE ever state what a raid was to consist of what class and how many people you run with on your roster? and thats a genuine question because if they did then its whole heartedly acceptable to moan about that. HOWEVER! if it requires elements of a class thats very good at dealing with whatever this mob can throw out its only one mob of many in the game and hence could be exactly what the mobs all about NPU killed it as we know and they DID what was needed to kill it.

Well said. Don't forget about Cleric Str line AA.

Grats to NPU for beating it, and it was a great archivement. But I wonder how much we would have gotten the mob down if we had 4 cleric. Best try was 47% with 2 cleric. I even wonder if we will kill this mob in its current form with only 2 cleric.

    Grats NPU
    Come down on your own
And leave your money at home
    Somebody must change
    You are the reason
I've been waiting all these years
    Somebody holds the key
I'm near the end, and I just ain't got the time
Oh, and I'm wasted, and I can't find my way home
