Well, let's see, there's gear and spell quality, they don't change at all. Spell selection, yeah that changes. On solo mobs I'm getting to a point where I don't bother with most of my dots, the mob dies too fast, and I do better with just direct nukes. I'm sure other classes have similar issues.
We could post parses of solos versus the training wall. That takes longer to kill, so it isn't about making sure all your big hitters are up at the beginning of the fight. Or at least not quite as much. It doesn't answer the OP's question, though, which was, what's an acceptable level of dps from various classes on a raid.
