Re: Tried in the fire? Or smuggled through the roster?
Didn't you piggy back on SD and not pull your weight?
Don't you say you like to cut through bullshit when you post, but take 400 words just to say it?
you're a walking hypocrite. (if you can walk)
Since when is a good player specifically a good soloer?
I know lots of amazing bards in groups that are mediocre solo, sure if you're really good then you should be able to do both, but once you get to an epic part of an epic quest, why should soloing matter.
this thread is an F---

Re: Tried in the fire? Or smuggled through the roster?
How about they leave all the solo shit to the lower level version of the epic. If you want to upgrade it, it's through raids, but raids that are difficult enough that you can't take dead weight. Problem solved.
That way the reward might actually be... I dunno, epic.

did anyone else lol at this comment?
name the raids that you cant afford any dead weight? seriously :/
I'd like to see epic weapons be epic - meaning YOU are good, as well as your group being good, and your raid being good.
Make epic weapons HARD. long != hard. just make it really really freaking hard, that would be enough for me (im thinking like - near perfect grps here)
I'd rather something be difficult and rewarding than any raider in the game has one

Re: Tried in the fire? Or smuggled through the roster?
epics from EQ1 were pretty funny and skilly to do (at very start).
I remember Ragebringer for rogues, having to sneak in full Aggro zone, to pickpocket quests items from npc that could kill you insta.
And the raid that was needed to finish the epic.
The only thing that sadden me in eq2 is the veru highend part of epic quests. You work you a$$ until the end, kinda long and painfully, and cannot finish coz u cannot attend one of the 2 first guilds on your server.
Raid yes, hard one yes, but top end one ... let a chance to the other raiders, they worked enough hard so far to get it.

Hell, they could even make it where you get a debuff upon entering where your runspeed buffs are negated, to prevent classes which would have an unfair advantage.
I think seemless movement and coordination of a toon is an overlooked aspect in this game. It's another thing that seperates the good players from the bad players and it'd be something that isn't gear dependant.

Sounds interesting. Made me think of something else though-
What I'd like to see is them making more use of "possession" style events akin to the one we had pre- EoF. Something like that would test your adaptability and remove any gear/class/playstyle bias.

Bards may be mediocre against wizard solo content, but should absolutely succeed in content tailored to a solo bard. In a solo instance, there is no spam healer to bail you out, no tank to keep aggro off of you, no chanter to stun for you and no mage to nuke it dead for you. It's just you and YOUR skills.

I would say AoM is a pretty good example atm of a mob where no one can slack atm for lots of reasons, but there's things they could do to fix that... for the effects that the mob casts, have it cast multiple status aoes each of a different type, so a different healer type has to be on the ball (and so it more naturally conforms to the way most raid guilds run - i.e., NOT a shit ton of templars). There's plenty of tasks that they could put on a mob of this type to make sure that different people are paying attention, from class-shifting like sariah, to "what can damage me right now" like the eye in labs (I can't even remember the name, been too long). Needless to say, there's definitely ways to make a mob challenging that could involve all players having to pay attention. Vision on AoM is seriously an awesome example of that, I really like that part of the fight, kudos to whoever thought that one up.

Fixed it for you. Anyone who plays this game and is brighter than a retarded mosquito knows that no skill is required, other than the ability to read and comprehend your class's spell/CA descriptions.
