Tier 7 Master I is supposed to be upgraded by Tier 8 Adept III, not downgraded.

Guardians are far from the only class who have t8 adept3s that are worse than T7M1s. It's very common this expansion.

I would agree, but that doesn't make it right. That is the only Guardian T8 AD3 that was a downgrade from T7 M1 though, so I thought it prudent to point it out. With the dev traffic on this board, maybe it was an oversight that can be fixed.

I will admit I didn't look at these values during beta, I was busy with other things. I was handed all my masters, so I never really got the chance to see if they were upgrades or not. On live, I inspected each one before scribing and compared. Lesson learned for next beta I suppose.

I just looted M1 Sentinel Sphere to find the upgrade is a massive 3% better chance to intercept damage on group members. Everything else is identical. It's pretty debatable if this is an upgrade at all, since you usually use Sphere to protect yourself with the stoneskin rather than to protect group members. All the intercept chance does in many situations is increase the chance of an AE 1-shotting you.

It wouldn't be overpowered if Sentinel Sphere followed the progression that Guardian/Stone Sphere do and had 7 procs, particularly with mobs hitting as hard as they are. I'm hoping it's an oversight ~ since the spell description is incorrect they can't have been that careful when creating the spell.

Back to the original topic, yes, that is upsetting that the new M1 is hardly an upgrade, but that seems to be the norm for all of our Guardian upgrades. Most fighters in fact, seem to have gotten the shaft with the new T8 upgrades. As an alchemist I've seen that most A3s are hardly, if at all, an upgrade. Especially if you factor in the power requirements for the new A3s.
