Re: How's this for a group?
If he actually plans on 6 boxing by himself, then he needs to maximize usefulness of characters hes not playing 100% of the time. Thus the paladin tanking with amends. He can hold agro without having to be on the toon 100% of the time. I would imagaine a (paladin-summoner-defiler-illusionist-dirge-ranger) group working pretty well. Summoner is pretty much send pet /afk dps. Defiler for heals and I don't envision a 2nd healer being at all useful considering you can only heal on one toon at a time. Paladin throws amends on the ranger, ranger can do ok auto atk dps, and do good dps when you have time to actually use him. Illusionist buffs the tank/ranger out the ass + can stun/stifle/mez/dps. Dirge adds buffs/hate. This group would maximize potential of a 6 boxed group, while allowing the player to really only need to switch between the 3 main toons (ranger/defiler/paladin) for dps/heals/tanking and only use the other 3 once in awhile.

Re: How's this for a group?
god, 6 boxing FTL
i never saw the draw of playing a huge amount of characters at once. i used to 2 box a defiler with my bruiser and that worked decently but only because the defiler was there just for a few specific wards and debuffs which i could essentially cast with 3 or 4 macros. after that the 2nd box lost any of its effectiveness. trying to play 6 at once is just an exercise in seeing how many group buffs and autoattack/pet DPS classes you can stack up.
bleh.

Re: How's this for a group?
It's also an excercise in seeing how many tasks you can make you brain do at once. I haven't ever 6 boxed, but I've 2 and 3 boxed and I found it funner than just soloing. It's kind of sad actually, that most classes are so easy to play effectively that you can do so while playing other characters at the same time, without using a script beyond the in-game macro system. (some classes you don't even need those, but it does decrease the buttons some) But that's a hijack! /wags finger

Re: How's this for a group?
Oh hell no would I ever 6 box... I don't even have the money to one box right now. @_@ Just wanted to see how my characters would fit together in a group is all.
And as for the whole offtank thing, can't a guy wish that SOE will, someday, actually make group content challenging without having to go to some special instance?

Good group, but these changes ftw!
Pali no, cause Pali's smoke cock. Zerker FTW!! (AoE dmg, burst dmg, aggro, plus parsing on the top every time...pshhh!!!) And instead of ranger, go swash. Going for full melee buffs/debuffs, Swash FTW!

All set up for melee classes to heavily debuff and burn through mobs in no time, great mana regen and DPS buffs from coercer and dirge so no pausing between mobs and coercer to deal with any hiccups. Makes for a very fast and smooth in any zone.

Again, Zerker FTW! No Monk, no spike dmg...plus better AoE and burst dps... instead of defiler, throw in the swash or even a warlock to just OWN!!

good paladins are amazing tanks for heroic content. i prefer them, by far, to tank for my groups over any other fighter. amends on a brigand against heroic content is 100% sticky aggro on that paladin, which means the rest of the group can DPS to their full potential. most other fighters (and i'm talking full raid geared VP-tanking warriors) cant hold aggro against me, which means i'm no longer behind the mob 100% of the time and thus doing only a portion of the DPS that i should be.
