Basically imo it comes down to which skill has more + items that are attainable for your class for instance there are more + piercing items for scouts and more + slashing items for Plate tanks

you were asking about slashing vs. piercing. the answer is either 42, or crushing.

I dont see how it is accurate to say +(slashing/piercing/crushing) items dont matter, currently if i go offensive i can hit a decent amount however if i swith to defensive i can barely hit even cons, thus + slashing piercing crushing items do matter and do quite a bit however there are not enough items out there with the added bonus's imo more adornments should have + skills currently there are 4 slots that dont really have useful adornments (both symbol items ) and earrings.

Tholar was talking about raiding I believe. I picked up a sword for the first time in ages a few weeks ago so my slashing was 60 points lower than my piercing. Difference in hit percent on yellow epic mobs? Less than 1%.

There is diminishing returns on every stat however because there is very little we can do to make us extremely more useful (no miracle cures) we have to find a happy medium with all of them.
