I think your statement is correct for most classes.
Previous to this hitrate fiasco, I valued MC and DA about even (disclaimer I have a crit robe and spend around 20% of the time over 100% crit).
In yellow zones, as a brig, in my normal group (granted i have decent gear and a decent group) autoattack damage can be anywhere from 45-55% of my dps, with around 15-20% coming from procs, and the remaining 25-35% from CA's), in vp things shift to around 40-45% AA, 20% procs, 35-40% CA.
Currently, I think MC is far superior to DA for virtually every class in game because of poor hitrates (which lead to a larger % of CA dmg and lesser % of AA dmg).
What is interesting to me is, my CA's will not gain any significant boost for the rest of the expansion, my mythical should do much better dps than the weapons I was using in the parse I referenced above, pair that up with a decent undiscovered avatar/trak drop and the numbers could shift even further in AA autoattacks favor.
Take it a step further, if they end up fixing melee hitrates, or nerfing spell/CA hitrates, that could tip the scales even further in AA's direction for a lot of classes, and as Calaglin pointed out above, the further things push in the autoattack direction, the more advantageous DA becomes relative to MC, so we could be in a situation where 2 months from now, for some classes DA is superior to MC.
