Default Combat mechanics for noobs

Hi folks

As a new convert to EQ2 I would like to know the basics of how combat works. eg how hit%, crit% etc are calculated ; how stats affect probabilities ; how mitigation works ; etc

I have googled, wikied and searched forums but cannot find a from-the-ground-up discussion of combat mechanics.

If anyone could link articles/forum discussions I would be grateful.

Thanks for your understanding of my profound noobness.

Default Re: Combat mechanics for noobs

Theres no way in hell to put this in a nutshell....and I doubt anyone with the knowledge would be able to sum it up beautifully without taking a couple hours of their day...just tackle questions on a daily basis...best advice I can give

as a new comer the hardcore math of the game shouldn't be a worry...even once you're of level it doesn't exactly matter unless you plan on touching raid content.

If you do strive for a raid guild you'd probably have learned the majority of it over time.

Just keep a keen eye on your surroundings and stats across your table no matter what class you are every stat and every modifier can have a use big or small. It's in your best interrest to familiarize yourself with your characters class and what it should be focusing on and then branch out from there.

IE: Warriors - Stamina VS HP modifiers - Double Attack VS Crit - Agility VS Parry/Defense/Block modifiers
