You mean how shamen have to mentor and farm for Umbral trap Still no dice :/ that spell either needs to drop in higher level dungeons or they need to add an upgrade system like snark said with status or maybe a raid dropped or dungeon dropped item that can be traded in like three for a master ect.

While I would be all for that idea (still need Tsunami mastered...), you should need something more than just some status. I have already 35.000.000 status on one of my toons. But something like a Fabled drop from instances + 1.000.000 status + cash would sound pretty decent to me. With Fabled drop I mean something like patterns from VP only for Master spells.

I think a status/plat combo is an interesting solution, but it seems like SoE has either pretty much forgotten about or decided to ignore the status system seeing as it's basically pointless.

Hell, even the new wargs are now dropped instead of purchased with status/plat...

That would be awesome if they did that. Then status would actually mean something.

I was level 80 within 2 weeks of RoK going live. for the first 3 months, all I did was run instances, 2-3 a day, sometimes more, 5-6 days a week. After 3 months I got kinda burned out on the same 4 fucking whackamole instances and CoK.

Since then I have been raiding T1/T2 in RoK and doing probably 10-12 instances a week. I do not think I am overestimating that I have probably run 420-450 instances.

Out of all of those instances I have seen a total of 0 fucking masters drop for my class, Guardian. I have had 2 given to me by guild members, I bought one that was reasonably priced at 25p and I traded for 1 for another Master.

So, after about 450 instances and almost 6 months into the expansion, I have 4 Masters. That is total bullshit imo, but I realize my opinion doesn't mean shit to the dipshits at SoE.....

If they really don't want to upgrade those abilities, they should just add a new spell/art with the *exact* same effects but with a new level so it can be dropped from current tier mobs.

it is frustrating to try and pharm a Percussion of Stone or shit like that.

I understand if they want to not upgrade certain things do to some ideal of balance and overpowering, but at least make it so we can get those spells/arts.

Seems to me that people have what I'm going to call T7 syndrome. This is comparable to people who feel Final Fantasy 7 is the greatest Final Fantasy game of all time because they played that one first. FF7 was an anomaly, so far from the rest of it's predecessors that it probably shouldn't have had the Final Fantasy title.

In this same way, T7 master drop rates are an anomaly. Prior to T7 Masters were relatively rare. Probably even rarer than T8 is now. With the number of instanced heroic zones, and the lifespan of Teir 7 (KoS, Mara, EoF) plus EQ2's change from a moderately difficult game to WoWclone difficulty, masters were easy to get. The market was flooded with them as the chests dropped like candy, and they were even added to solo mobs, as if the drop rate wasn't high enough already, pick up a writ, get faction, status, and a master. But in truth, T7 was nothing like the rest of the game.

Now we get T8, loot tables are F'd, you can spend all day doing instances and get nothing but a few crappy legendary items and a metric ass-ton of treasured boxes. Is that right? No. The master drop rate probably does need to be adjusted a little, but so does the whole system for these instances so that it actually feels worthwhile to do them. The only two places where master drops rates should be adjusted with any significance is A) Solo mobs should not drop them and B) Raid mobs (in my experience) should drop a few more of them. We've had more than a few T8 raid nights that provided no masters whatsoever. Considering the raid caste is the intended audience for masters, this seems a little askew.

And hell, i don't give a damn about masters, I'm more pissed at the fact that I'm 4mo into the expansion without a single drop of Praetor's guard while other people in my guild have them on their alts already. Less junk loot overall IMO!
