Default Re: A (Short) Rant on Master Drop Rates

We headed into Chardok this past weekend to kill the Queen (or PH) for some epic update. Queen was up and she dropped a master chest, and in it was a level 80 troub master...so much for getting something level 71-75 and getting something that can drop in any of the raid zones.

They should have kept Karnors Castle the same drop rate as release. Instead these fucktards thought it a great idea to lower it insanely and put it on HUGE master loot tables like chardok/sebilis. Seriously, who the fuck comes up with these ideas?

Masters Dropping in instances is an idiotic Idea anyways. Masters should drop from raid mobs only. Otherwise why not just put every item in every raid zone as a random drop in instances. Trak's whole loot table on some named in Karnors, why not, thats how masters work.

I've won a couple others and sold or handed them to guildies, but the market for Wizard masters on butcherblock is freaking bare.

All that being said, I have serious complaints about the drop rate on master chests. I've done CoA and seen 3 master chests drop, then gone for a week and not see another one. Does anyone else find that a bit ridiculous?? Is it really SoE's intent that you either have ungodly amounts of plat to buy your spells with (assuming they're on the market of course) or that you have to farm for a bloody year to get mastered out? Now someone is going to bring up raiding T8 zones and that masters drop there and should be distrubted fairly, and in my guild they are, but the drop rate is still horrendous. You might get one master on a PR run... if you're lucky... and you helped the old lady in your apartment complex take out the trash for the last 2,347 days. It isn't a whole lot better for the other instances. Even VP doesn't drop Masters very often.

So, to SoE Devs, increase the damn drop rate on masters already!
It's people like you who ruin the game. Shut the fuck up and never post here again.

Instead of making it a garunteed drop for the raiders, and instead of making it only in raid content while continuing to shaft the casual players, why not instead have an npc around that can give you a quest that spans across completing the main heroic instances once (coa, voes, chelsith, etc) and offers you a chance to upgrade a single spell of yours to the NEXT level, up to a master I limit, available once per week or two. That way, those that are actively doing all the content and get the adept 3s can get an alternative method to upgrade their spells to a master, and gives the less loaded players a means to upgrade to an adept 3 instead of farming up 6 plat for each scout/fighter's spell, and with a once every so many days/weeks limit, it does this without allowing someone to get all their masters in 3 weeks from grinding. "you could always go harvest" but i've been doing that for fucking 4 months with only 6 silicate loams to show and about 12k ferrite. Awsome drop rate alright, now what am i going to do with all this damn incarnadine? /Pass on that.

Or snark's 1m status for an upgrade would rock too. grind those writs, and it'd stimulate the market for harvestables to the point that you could easily afford a 120p master after a week or two of harvestable brokering or the 1m status from writ grinding at the same rate. God knows all the harvesting farmers are elsewhere now, and tbh, i miss the carpet hoppers hocking mats for affordable rates. 1g ea. "common" materials ftw!
