Re: A (Short) Rant on Master Drop Rates
Instead of making it a garunteed drop for the raiders, and instead of making it only in raid content while continuing to shaft the casual players, why not instead have an npc around that can give you a quest that spans across completing the main heroic instances once (coa, voes, chelsith, etc) and offers you a chance to upgrade a single spell of yours to the NEXT level, up to a master I limit, available once per week or two. That way, those that are actively doing all the content and get the adept 3s can get an alternative method to upgrade their spells to a master, and gives the less loaded players a means to upgrade to an adept 3 instead of farming up 6 plat for each scout/fighter's spell, and with a once every so many days/weeks limit, it does this without allowing someone to get all their masters in 3 weeks from grinding. "you could always go harvest" but i've been doing that for fucking 4 months with only 6 silicate loams to show and about 12k ferrite. Awsome drop rate alright, now what am i going to do with all this damn incarnadine? /Pass on that.
Or snark's 1m status for an upgrade would rock too. grind those writs, and it'd stimulate the market for harvestables to the point that you could easily afford a 120p master after a week or two of harvestable brokering or the 1m status from writ grinding at the same rate. God knows all the harvesting farmers are elsewhere now, and tbh, i miss the carpet hoppers hocking mats for affordable rates. 1g ea. "common" materials ftw!
