No, I think if they are going to combine everything into being able to be cured by one spell (perhaps two: cure and curse), all mob dots and debuffs will also be combined into only one type.

I doubt this is really intended as a player benefit, to free up hotbar slots or whatever. No, this is a designer benefit, to make it easier to design encounters by just having mobs cast generic debuffs and dots.
You are completely incorrect. The curing will not change, only that priests now only have one cure instead of four; that is: Priests will cure 88 levels of all effects with one ability, just like the Warden spell Purity, an upgrade of Tranquility. (without the heal component)

Argue it if you want, but it's been confirmed.

It's the only way that could cleanly be extrapolated based on what we already know.

Case in Point, they're changing it as I expected. The single-target cures for PRIESTS become 1. Everything else remains the same.

What kind of worries me is the dev has commented several times about the topic and questions in the topic but has totally ignored the direct question of will the cast/recast times change for the new all in one cure.
This leaves me with a bad feeling that we may see a increased recast time simular to the cure curse recast time instead of the 0 recast time.
