Icthis hit it on the head. It isn't really so much about Master P, but more just a curious question. I used Master P as an example. Sometimes people have random musings while they are bored (read: at work). I got to thinking about other ways this information could be useful. For example: if I wanted to pull a mob with my tank and get ontop of the aggro list and build a buffer. I was thinking I could have say a Wizard pull with a big one shotter and lets say that lands for 40k, I hit rescue and now I get moved up on the hate list (by what 3 positions or whatever). To my understanding this would essentially give me 45k hate (Move me to top of hate which is 40001 + 5000 hate from a master rescue, i think that is the amount). I would now have a 45k buffer between me and the other 4 people in the group (or 22 others in the raid).

Using this as a method of pulling wouldn't this create a more stable environment at the beginning of an encounter?

Please don't let this turn into a if you are doing X then you must be a Y.

This really was just a simple question, with a fairly simple answer really. I do appreciate the input that I have gotten so far, like in order to manaburn you have to be hated already.

Sometimes when a question is posed it is simply that...a question there doesn't always have to be more than meets the eye.

Your idea is good at first glance, except for the fact (as others have mentioned) that trying to land something on a non debuffed mob is a crapshoot. Physical attacks sucha s Execute have a VERY high chance of being parried or missing, and the resist rates goes through the fucking roof if a caster tries to pull with a large nuke (which would have to be bolt of ice in this case, because manaburn requires hate and fission requires prox range).

If this strat worked then it'd be common practice, believe me. =)

Manaburn would definitely pose the largest single hit, especially on critting.

Even though it gives the big hit, it also saps all of your mana so you're out for the rest of the fight >.<

For a pull yeah, but if you have a mystic with mythical DURING the fight, maybe not such a bad thing. I don't know, though. I usually don't spec for manaburn.

If you're "out for the rest of the fight" then you have an undergeared or unattentive raid, or horrible group setups. If you, as a wizard, don't have a group/raid makeup capable of providing you with positive net power gain, then don't spec manaburn.

theres a t7 alternative to manaburning efficiently if your group isn't a great one. Crystal Gift!

manaburn does not crit, ever. When it hits for above 100K it is ONLY because of the debuffs on the mob.

I would not spec it until your force is at least mythical'd out.

Bolt of Ice would be the largest, single nuke you could pull with.....but we are talkin SoH here, so yea...it'll get resisted.
