    Default Rangers parsing abilities.

Alot of people complaining about this in the forums. IM under the impression that its really the person not the Class.

DPS wise rangers (in our guild at least) TOP the parse on 90% of the fights, some without even bieng put in a Good buff'd group .... sometimes getting tossed in with just a troub for a bit o haste.

I dont really understand why people bitch/complain about rangers. Its gotten to where ifi hear a complaint i pretty much just think the person cant play their toon, am i wrong? please enlighten me.

You can make the same argument for many classes.

Individual parses make little sense without zonewide and guild zone data. A 1k parse might be considered decent in some guilds, but that same parse in another guild would put you firmly in the noob bracket.

I mean, for example, you have stated your Rangers are top DPS (or close to) in your guild without stating their DPS, raid DPS, zone reference, DPS of the classes they are beating etc etc. The same Rangers in another guild *might* be considered to be totally fucking useless.

Is it the class, the gear, the guild, the player, the fights chosen as examples? Pick any answer or combo you like. DPS threads are the debates that just keep giving.

    I love these 'debates'.

Rangers can do good dps, but they just can't hit the numbers that assassins, swashbucklers and even brigands are capable of.

Our Ranger zone parses with the best of them. He generally outparses our Swashys and Brigands as well. I can't say I understand the complaints except to say there are a lot of Lagolus' out there.

put a ranger with a dirge and coercer and they will do as good as an assassin in the troub group.

I agree its all about group set ups. countles times ive seen posts about ranger do allright but put an assassin in the SAME group set up and they do better.

well hot shit! I dont want or need agitate an assassin may. I dont need haste, an assassin does.

Assassins have a self maintained buff that gives them 66% DPS mod Rangers have 43% haste - 8% in combat runspeed (woppdy do) im sure sonys reason for that is that bows are naturly slower and hit harder then melee weapons. my only beef with that is that an assassin can attack with a bow to and it hits just as hard...but thats a whole other story.

Anyway a result is an assassin doesnt need a coercer they can about cap there dps with just a dirge or a bruiser.

Before i ramble on anymore point is shouldnt compare assassin, rangers, and even brigandes with the Same group set up. of course a ranger will do bad in a group geared to an assassin or brig. We arent the same class and have different needs.

    BTW!
do yall parse only the time you have fought or from the time you entered the zone to the last encounter for zonewide? cos last couple ive seen got parsed from the time enterering and the few "ok everyone go take a restroom break"s have made it look horrible...

Rangers can do fine, but they're even more buff-reliant than assassins IMO. Can stick me and a ranger in an absolutely shitty group and I'll pretty much destroy the poor guy on any fight I'm not afk for. Also, rangers really need a fabled bow to compete, preferably with the summoned up ammo from icorstrand or bak'zul, IMO and I know ours at least has the worst damn luck about never being there when they drop.

Also, to parse comparably, rangers need TWO bows (one to summon arrows, and the Sarnak one). Also, they need dps buffs whereas assassins need haste. Haste is usually available, but most guilds raid with only one coercer, who will go in the MT group. You shouldn't need a 2nd coercer just so your ranger can parse high. It's the whole class system which is flawed - they give one predator dps buffs and the other haste, but dps is far superior to haste. It's the same in many situations, rogue debuffs are another example, as are bard stoneskin/reflect. They try and make each class better in different areas, but they just unbalance things.

We get away with a Dirge and Assassin in MT grp freeing up the Coercer for the 2 Rangers and whoever else ends up in that grp. Whether this would work for Chel and tougher fights I don't know. We can clear all other instances with this set up though.
