Re: OT targeting macros
The guy is asking for help and this is the best you retards can come up with.
You know a game is fail when people are quick to jump on someone for asking how to facilate playing the game more effeciently.
FYI all of you are retarded for playing eq2 so the irony in you making fun of the orginal poster is pretty funny anyway.

Re: OT targeting macros
Volko, best I can tell you is what I do.
In heroic instance zones I use face direction and target nearest target button.
On raids, I have 3 target hotkeys that are tied in to my Num pad 1 2 3.
1 and 2 are /target (adds name)
3 is /assist (name of MT)
Lets say that the adds all have the same name, or practive pull the named to get the name of the add and make a hot key for it. For example, nn Palace of the Ancient one, most adds are name a void ..., so I change my hotkey to say /target a void.
Once the add is dead, quickly hit your third hot key and get back on the named.
In regards to other situations, set up a hotkey to like F on your keyboard for target nearest target. Play in third person, so you can see the battle, turn off as many spell effects as possible, so you can clearly see when an add pops around you. Once the add pops hit escape so you can come off your current target and face the mobs direction and hit your target nearest target key.
If you know the name of the adds it is really easy to be prepared and have a hotkey ready. Make sure you play in third person and know the enccounter because in some fights adds pop at certain times, or percentages.
The key to being a good OT, is how fast can you react, get agro and hold the agro. If you study encounters and are proactive in setting up hotkeys and knowing encounters you will do fine. It takes a lot of practice time, and a twitch reaction to be a good OT.

Where did you get that someone was making fun of the OP? You're a fucking retard. Those were macros I really had back when I was MA and had an assist macro. Though actually, I think my placement of the /assist command was wrong because macros were goofy like that.
And the other one was interesting, I'm going to try it next time I'm in game. I had no idea there were commands like that.
One person says /quit and you get butthurt. In short go fuck yourself, this could be a fun and informative topic. No reason for you to shit all over it.

Re: OT targeting macros
In fights with lots of adds, I usually like to know the names of the adds first, then I list them in the macro in the order I want to kill them. Well reverse order actually. For instance, on the overking fight, my macro is something like
/assist MT
/tar Selrach
/tar [heroic add 1]
/tar [heroic add 2]
/tar soldier
/tar a flaming drought
/tar mentalist
Obviously those names aren't right, cause I cant remember them all right now. But if everything is up, you would want to kill mentalists first, cause they do the stun. Next you'd want to kill the epic soldiers (which will hopefully die before any heroic adds come) because if you pull them away from the throne the encounter resets, then the flaming drought if they are up and moving, then the other heroic adds, and then finally dps on selrach if everything else is dead. I throw in the assist on the MT just in case something unexpected comes up. There's usually no need for it once you know the fight. The Thet Em au fight is a good example of why I keep the /assist line in there. For some reason, /tar thet-em-au has never worked to target that bitch (nor any variation of it) so the /assist MT saves me time and trouble.
Then I spam that, and as long as you have a good view of the battle it'll work fine. One thing to note is that target macros don't seem to work on mobs you can't see on your screen. fortunately, you don't really need line of sight, you just need to see them on your screen. Thats why its safe to put the flaming draught in the OK macro. If you position yourself where I do, you cant see those buggars till they start to move.
So is this the sort of info you are looking for?
