Default Re: 6-Man Group Hows This?

My buddy and I both 3 box and our 6man group is:

Zerker
Dirge
Dirge
Templar
Defiler
Assassin

Yes, we run 2 dirges and soon going to drop one for Illusionist. All the toons have mythicals except the defiler. We 1 group first 3 named in SoH, a few in WoE and most of PR and a few others. Heroic content we generally cream except a few zones we havent even gone into yet.

Shadowknight
Inquisitor
Dirge
Troubador
Coercer
Illusionist

Is the best group imo if there's no multiboxing. Unfortunately most of these classes can be annoying to box. Instead, I think an ideal multibox group is:

Paladin
Mystic
Dirge
Troubador
Illusionist
Templar

Paladin is the best tank to box with because Amends is EZmode...so you can focus your time on other toons.

Mystic is great because they are the strongest prewarding class.

Dirge/Troub are valuable because most of their power comes from their buffs and utility, which are easy to box.

Illusionists are very difficult to box, but you really want a chanter in a boxing group because your dps won't be the best and you want to ensure that you have enough mana to outlast mobs. You don't need coercer hate buff in this group, and illys provide better mana regen.

The templar is there for tough fights where you need multiple healers or someone to cure stuff off the other healer. Plus they have great buffs that don't require any attention.

I don't put any predators or rogues in this group because positioning can be a pain to box.

No sorcerers/summoners because although their long cast tiems/pets are great for boxing, you're often better off making sure you can surivive encounters with 2nd healer+2x bard than pushing DPS.

No druids because although they are fantastic healers (and the best solo healers) they are very spammy which can be a pain to box.

No SK/Berserker/Guardian because although they are each good in their own right, they cant come close to matching the /afk tanking skills of a paladin.

Ideally you'd have one person playing Paladin/Templar, one playing Illusionist/Troubador, and one playing Mystic/Dirge...as the Paladin-Illy-Mystic trio can kill pretty much anything by itself, its just that the Templar-Troub-Dirge buffs+utility makes it much easier.

Default Re: 6-Man Group Hows This?

Used to run SK, Troub, Dirge, Coercer and Templar in my 5-box crew ... Pretty overpowered combo already as it is when it comes to buffs. Sure, to max out that 5-combo I probably should've gone illu/inq for max dps, but as the templar was my main and didn't wanna go inqui for a few reasons, I found the coercer to fit my playstyle and group better.
With an inquis/illu combo I'd probably go with a coercer as 6:th just to be able to boost the max heal capacity for those occasions where you box raid content, but with the combo I had I would've prefered to transfer my warlock to a 6:th account just to give some nice AE dps apart from the SK. Also was considering a swash or brig for debuffing and nice dps, but it all came down to my single computer not being able to handle 6 accounts. :p

But it all comes down to gear in the end ... Without good gear on the group I'd probably recommend a 2-healer combo to start out with to cover up for damage peaks due to a squishy tank and (maybe) not having the debuffing locked down air tight on harder fights.

SK, Troub, Dirge, Illu, Inq, Mystic would probably be my recommended "beginners" group and if/when they're well geared, trade the mystic for a coercer if you feel that you might lack defensive stuff without the mystic or a sorceror if you feel that you can spare on the defense.

Yeah that would pretty much be the best group for you guys without rolling all new toons. If the druid is being boxed I'd leave it as a warden otherwise, yeah betray to fury.

Gonna throw in my little tip whenever boxing i avoid most all melee dps. I have found even if you throw like say 2 locks in ur six box it is still going to be more efficient then trying to actually run say a brigand and an assassin. You may be giving up some dps but honestly its not worth the hassle. Also until you get good i suggest boxing wizzies in empty spots long cast time big hits trying to run a chanter and another character effectively would get difficult just cause chanters cast a lot of spells.
When i say wiz in extra spots i mean after you have the basic tank, healer, and utilities down

A) its easy to multi box almost any game, In fact some are way way easier (WoW anyone).

B) For various reasons I run Guard, troub, coercer, illy, fury, defiler
I can clear all content except PoF boxing. Can also do some easier raid stuff. I have found melee dps = the suck when boxing, especially ones that require positional attacks.
