Outside of the rhetoric and mud slinging, it almost appears that this is a Bard Myth that is propogated by Bards because they like having, and benefit from having the other class in the group more than others. However, like Grog says adding another dps class in group or a SK could yield more benefits and is potentially being overlooked. If this whole debate is about X dps class being able to put out the most insane dps and building a group around that one person, then maybe 2 bards makes sense, otherwise i can't imagine in a group set up that Direge/Troub/Assasin group would do more dps than say Dirge/Ranger/Assasin if you had any 3 other classes. Or that Troub/Dirge/Warlock would do more dps than Troub/Wizzard/Warlock would do with 3 other classes in group. Unless the benefits that each of the bards give to the other one would out perform an additional true dps class? I just can't see the benefits of building an uber 1 dps class to steal aggro and die vs spreading out the dps for the most you can get out of 3 slots combined.
In this world of Epeens though, everyone is going to like 2 chanters, 2 bards, Inq/Fury and be the only DPS class in group. It's going to make it feel super big. But does that group out dps scout group of dirge, coercer, inq, monk, ranger and assasin? or troub, sk, inq, illy, wiz and warlock? Is it just to feed someones ego or is it really better? And which is more likely to survive longer? |
