Re: Raid parsing
Uccellin, thats a great zone wide parse for a zerker. Still, its only 1 piece and having a look at the top dps from your raid would give a better understanding of how/why.
Pheelin, Pronoia .. great disscussion. Your both kinda right. Something i've been looking into myself since coming back into the game.
In my own experience as a ranger, i was parsing 1.5k-1.6k for Lyceum a long time ago (4-5 months ago), long before anyone said it was possible for rangers to parse in that range. Back then, in my guild there were really only 3-5 of us reguarly breaking 1k zone wide .. and the gap b/w myself and the main assassin (1.6k-1.9k) , and the others (1-1.2k) was significant.
Now, after a 2 month break and being back a few weeks .. my parse, along with the main assassin have dropped. Everyone else's DPS has increased. We now have 7-9 people all breaking 1k .. and most of those are 1.1-1.35k zone wide. My own parsing has dropped to 1.35-1.4 zone wide with the main assassin ~1.4k .... although, we generally still top 1-2 in raid, on zonewide.
2 factors contributed to our drop in DPS. Everyone else in the raid has really picked up the slack. Internal raid DPS competition is pretty fierce, but a lot of fun and in great spirit. Everyone trying to outdo each other and everyone focused the entire time.
The other factor is speed raiding, we race through the zone/s now. Never wait b/w mobs and so our CAs are never refreshed b/w mobs, power becomes a bigger issue and we suffer a few more deaths along the way, which impacts on zonewide DPS.
Basically, if a lot of the DPS classes are going hard, all the time, everyone's zonewide DPS will drop a little. Nothing you can do to get around that. And your both right re: a rangers/DPS class spikes/dips .. the time it takes to take down a mob, just before a 2nd refresh cycle of CA's is going to hurt rangers .. or any DPS class.
