Yeah, the special avoidance cases go first. It's the same percentage chance either way because they are all separate checks. So in the case where a mob would have successfully dodged but you would have missed anyway, we prefer to show the dodge message because its more interesting than having lots of misses.
Pretty sure the post I quoted from xelgad was after the post from rothgar. IIRC, after all those questions rothgar had xelgad look into it.
It's only weird if it doesn't work.
