    Default AoE stacking.

    What is the benefit of getting to 100% aoe auto static, is it just for any procs and the flurries off each hit, or is there something else.
    Going from 46% flurry self buffed and 70% in raid, down to 39% and going to 69% aoe and 89% in raid [aoi] I noticed a loss of auto attack dps, around 20k, in SS tonight compared to the other raid nights, would getting that lat 11% make a difference, or using a 2H, would it be an over all gain to go back to ATS stacking and not worrie about AoE auto as much.

    Why is the AE auto attack mechanic always so misunderstood?

    It was that way once upon a time, and last it was explained to me, you can do one of the other, MA or AoE, if that's changed, its news to me.

    you swing, roll a hit and ae chance, the direct hit gets a flurry/multi chance, but the ae simply rolls a single hit. at least that's what i always thought.

    multi = primary
    flurry = primary
    aoe = 3 surrounding targets + anything that would proc on a normal mainhand/offhand swing

    (ma/flu are not procs)

    where aoe attack wins is on procs other than that aoe auto damage ends up being pretty meh imo. it's good to have aoe auto as high as you can get it but sacrificing 30% flurry for 20% aoe attack? no wai

    maybe i didn't read that right?

    aoe attack hits up to 4 mobs that are in your 180% arc (more than that it seems).

    flurry = chance for 2-4 hits
    aoe = chance for 3 hits + procs

    Actually AE auto is +4 targets. It doesn't hit your selected target.

    Here's a picture breaking down auto attack swings for 1 weapon:

    AE auto is obviously only gonna up your parse when there are always extra targets around, or at least the majority of the time. The plus side of AE auto is when it goes off it always hits all it's targets. It doesn't get decided on a per target chance. The rest is up to hit rates, etc.

    Any attack missing in an AE auto, main hand swing, flurry, or multi-attack, does not break the others from hitting. Each hit can hit or miss like a normal attack.

    Huh, alright, thanks, i've been running on some really out dated mechanic information then,as i said the last time i saw a break down of it, as my AoE would go up drasticly, my MA would go down sharply, so I've been avoiding it, its clearly got changed at some point and I never caught up.

    For losing the flurry, it seems as long as I can get over 55% in raids, the effective value given in act is around 65-75% with rng,and with so many Aoe add fights in PoW/SS, it looks like it should even out.
