    Default Spec/Build Resources

I've played EQ2 since launch, and EQ before that. I am debating on coming back after my longest absence. Since the time when EQ2 was launched, most MMOs, especially EQ2's unnamed launch competitor, have had an increased online presence of guides and websites dedicated to getting the most out of your character.

When I was playing EQ2 in the past, I used EQ2i and Alakazam (both before and after joining with SOE). However, since I am coming back after many changes have been made, I am interested in using a website that has information regarding class builds, and most importantly, ability rotations. I asked around in reddit, (the EQ2 subreddit isn't very lively these days), and was directed to this site as well as EQ2i, Zam, and EQ2u, all but one of which I already knew about.

I know that there is some information within these and other forums, but I was hoping that the EQ2 community had grown to include our own versions of the other game's websites like MaxDPS and Icy-Veins. It's been so long, I would really appreciate knowing what the most effective rotation would be for my characters.

If anyone could point me in the right direction, I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!

You can kinda just copy specs/gear from one of the top players if they're on EQ2u. There's also a new site called The Dragons Armory that might help you a little bit with soft/hard caps, but nothing that I know of that gives stat priorities.

As far as rotations go, you'll pretty much have to figure it out yourself if you really want to know. Even most of the high end players don't really understand what they're doing...

They know exactly what they are doing.

Making fun of people mashing buttons,
while they do exactly the same thing.

Wtf are you guys talking about ?. Top players use ACT and analyse their parses every night to determine dps-efficiency of all spells/CAs
to determine exactly which spells to cast and when, to optimise dps, depending on raid dps and grp setup. The difference between a
medicore and good player is huge. Almost all guides here are written by ignorant ppl, who are clueless, or the guides are simply outdated,
so start by spending 2-3 hours on dummies, so you have sufficient ACT info to analyse.

I'd say 99.9% of the time, you don't even need to use ACT to reasonably see what buttons get pressed first. Also, read the class forums.

More like once a month/every few gear upgrades.

Dummies are also kind of worthless to do by yourself because a huge amount of your shit is going to come from your group setup/players.

And what Quabi said is absolutely right. Most top end players don't have the slightest clue as to what they're doing. Or they think they're doing it right when they're doing it completely wrong.

But yeah OP, all of the remaining players who even remotely have a clue as to what they're talking about are also too lazy to write any guides, mostly because it'll just get spammed by idiots who think they're good saying NO U BAD, BRIGANDS ARE ONLY GOOD FOR DISPATCH LOL WHATS MAX HP DEBUFFS.

Also also also, this dragon's armory shit is pretty cool.

I just wanted to note, when I wrote Dragon's Armory I already knew that everyone played their toons differently. Depending on gear, build, playstyle, and group/raid makeup that each person users a different stat priority, spell rotation, etc. So, I did the next best thing.. Highlight when you're over caps, missing things, and pointing out oddities (wrong stat gear, wrong armory types, missing items, items too low of level, etc). While much of this should be plainly obvious, there are many to whom it's not. Still trying to get more calculation details so I can correct the spell/ca damage and weapon dps, but dev's are being stingy

When I get my glasses, I plan to look around dragon armory a little more. It looked promising.
It's only weird if it doesn't work.
