Default An opportunity to eliminate spell consumables

If you're going to combine redundant spells, you should also point-blank remove Thoughtstones and Nil Crystals and Essences of Anguish and any other spell-generated/spell-dependent consumables in that category, and any spells that are used exclusively to generate those without other effect. Rebalance the remaining spells afterwards? Not even necessary. Just remove the damned things outright. Gone. Goodbye.

D&D games used to force you to hide in a corner and "sleep for 5 hours" to regain spells you used up. Other games made you dig up this and that herb and animal limb to cast each of a certain spell. Eye of newt and toe of frog is not fun, and the success the other classes have in not needing them is evidence that they add nothing to the game.

Beginners hate requiring them to cast stuff and experienced players hate lugging around hundreds of them in inventory.

That's the talking point. Others can take it from there.

Have to agree with you. I remember lugging around the items for my shadowknight's summoned pet, and I don't miss those at all. Would love to be able to say the same for my coercer.

I for one don't understand the reason for these components in the first place, they are totally useless.

I hated having to run around killing grey cons just to have enough nil crystals for raids when I played my warlock.

It's even a bigger pain in the ass now when I only play him as an alt, I always tend to run out of crystals because I can't be arsed to farm them anymore.

Just get rid of them, thank you.

I have the opposite problem with my coercer. After a raid I will normally have 2-4 extra stacks of stones that I just have to delete.

Hey wait!

There are plenty of monks/disciples just waiting for you to kill them in Pillars of Flame!

Groups of 16, whether you are from Qeynos or from Freeport, are just sitting there in T'Narev practicing their moves, waiting for you to nuke them!

Only one of them might argue with you, the other 15 will quickly go away without much trouble.

So, support your friendly neighborhood monk and show them their proper function in this game - as grey target practice!

P.S. I wonder if Thoughtstones is why Auspex had a level 20-ish minimum level requirement, which made things a fucking PITA when lowbie mentoring.
