Default Re: AA Setup

Having played with group stoneskin, the only time it's helpful is if you're taking < 50% HP damage. Some fights it's useful to absorb an initial AE, some fights its downright useless. The only people that will be taking < 50% HP on an AE are fighters and healers (due to their high HP), unless they're tanking the mob. And, if you're taking < 50% HP damage from an AE, it's not even worth bothering to block it as it'll be quickly healed back.

Taking more than 50% HP damage usually means your resists, HP, or crit mit are all very low. One way or another, group stoneskin won't help you.

One exception is a DoT AE that deals rapid damage over time (1 to 2 second DoT tick intervals). Few mobs that I've seen have such AEs though.

Your spec looks fine, not the way I personally choose to do it, but none of what is different should affect your parse.

how many of you have went down the plane shift hydro line? ive noticed none of the actual posted ones go down this root, but for toons with myths where pet has decent hp to not die as easily, is the dps from the planeshift and all worth the aa? or is the dps from the fire shield, etc in teh bubble tree gonna be more beneficial?

Ditch points out of Pyromancy enhance and get cure elemental IMO. Or, ditch points out of Winds of Velious enhance and Damage Shield enhance (which is a worthless AA) and go for enhance Plane Shift 5.

And probably ditch points out of INT tree (specifically INT 1) and get Animist Bond. INT is one stat where there is excess to go around.

Or, if you aren't 200 AA yet, gut the WIS tree, drop INT1 to 4 points, ditch enhance pyromancy and enhance damage shield, and put all the points you just accumulated directly into TSO. The endlines for TSO are your absolute top priority above all else.

I was speaking cleary in terms of dps when I made my post, and I assumed since you had 70/70 in both, that you had 200 AA's ..

If you don't have your endlines in the TSO tree, all 4 of them are absolutely vital. The TSO Tree Sess posted is an exact mirror of my current one, and I really can't see too many reasons to deviate from it. You can ditch your entire Wis line, and some points out of the Conjuror Tree if you need to move em around.

As far as cure ele, I spec 3 in heal, cure ele, blazing, and unity, personally. I also throw 4 points into the pet stoneskin. Between being able to expire it for free, and the actual normal use of the stoneskin, I find it handy.

The points in Pyromancy are really a waste imo. Id put them elsewhere, but tbh, none of what you don't have should be impacting your dps any. Your ability to keep your pet alive and cure yourself yes.

As far as Winds of Velious I would NOT ditch the 5 points in there. And tbh, though I can't think of any good reason why you would WANT to lol. Reduce duration = more tics quicker = more dps. End of fucking story.

I have a very very long post going over AA choices somewhere in this thread. If you haven't read it, I personally think I covered it all pretty well, and if anyone thinks of anything I missed, feel free to point it out. It doesn't go into TSO, but, seeing how straight forward those AA's are, I doubt Ill get up the ambition to add em on .

Hi I'm an 80 conjuror and im about to get my mythical, I have 2 questions:

1. Does your mythical pet get the same bonuses from the mage pet aa line, rather than scout, tank(in the summoner aa section), or does it not have an aa line and points should be spent else where?

2. Do your pets summoned during communion get the conjuror aa buffs from the conjuror aa line?

Thanks alot guys

Its been covered before, many times, but Ill repost it.

Your Mythical pet receives the MAGE pet bonuses. It is a wizard.

As to question 2, Im assuming you mean the conjurations line of the Conjuror AA tree. If this is the case, I don't *believe* they get those bonuses. Though, I am not 100% sure.
