You really don't want a healer unless you plan to kill heroics. My conj can easily heal the pet and with an illusionist, the mob is usually stunned. Keep in mind the illusionist's pet uses stuns too.

The other thing I like about the Troubador is Selo's for run speed that also effects pets. Makes it easier to run from mob to mob, place to place, without investing in a mount or chokadai totems. Troub also provides in-combat health rgen, defense (to offset pet's offensive stance penalties), and a spell resist debuff which is really nice.

I find dirges to be a good duo class with any melee DPS class and troubadors with any caster DPS class. For example I can kill heroics with a tank and a dirge, using dirge heal over time and buffs/debuffs.

When I duo I like to follow the philosophy of "a great offense is the best defense". With a healer I have pretty much all the time in the world to kill something, but not surprisingly it takes a lot longer. Which is not efficient in terms of exp rate, or loot. Faster kills means more exp, more loot, complete quests faster, AA's faster, etc. I tend to avoid duo'ing with healers for this reason.

Although I normally 6 box when not raiding, Guard/Conjy/Necro/Trouby/Warden/Temp, when I do duo, I take the trouby with me. It just an easier way for me to duo since i'm used to soloing mobs and all the trouby does is sing and buff me and the pet it doesn't interphere with my already established way of killing mobs solo.

I just got a second account, running conj/illy combo, lovin it so far. I just have two accounts running on one computer and Alt+Tab between the two.

yes 6 accounts, 4 laptops and 2 desktops. Normally i play 3 and wife plays 3 unless it's a simple zone which i'll run all 6

Actually Kahna has the better setup with tank pet. Even with scout pet around 50% double attack it did negligible, if not less, damage than fighter pet (@ L74 fighting blue cons). The scout pet took too much DPS away from the fight as I had to keep it alive.

I use Unflinching Servant AA on tank pet now, not a good AA setup for groups but I am just duo'ing 90% of the time since this entire expansion is about solo questing (with few exception of heroic quests in CoM or wherever). That gives the fighter pet very fast attacks with Illusionist's haste and offensive stance. The illusionist usually draws aggro from Prismatic Chaos (Master I), but with all the stuns between conj, illusionist and personae reflection, it's never a problem.

I alt tab over and send in Personae and continue like I'm soloing with tank pet. With all of the stuns and what not it's cake.

Ive duo lvled all kinds of combinations. My favorite two are Conj+Temp and Conj+Trouby. Temp for the precasted reactives (that way I can just dps and not worry about dying), and the Trouby is fun because the extra procs and whatnot mean, you dont NEED heals.
