Default BCG - Is it still the best?

I've been noticing lately that the BCG's proc is providing about 1% or so of my raid wide parses. As I know it's not proccing less nor being resisted much I can only assume it's dropped due to the increase in damage output through a higher char level and higher damage on the replaced/upgraded spells.

What I'm wondering is - I looted a 40 INT +1% Crit +2% Recast belt called the Flowing Blue Silk Sash from the Blue Baron in Chelsith the other day. I've always thought that the BCG was about as good as it gets for a fast casting mage like us Conjuror's but am now torn between these 2 as to what would likely be the best to use.

I was hoping to gather some oppinions from some of you Parse/DPS experts as too which you'd go with bearing in mind u can actually adorn the Sash as well.

I'd like to replace the old BCG with something that's actually better, just not sure if there is anything out there as yet that's better for a fast caster like us

Bcg is still the best belt around. One of the highest damage proc items, debuff is a nice bonus.

i still prefer bone clasped, the belt you mentioned is decent i guess but the reuse isnt that helpful 2% reuse im not even sure if thats a full second on a long recast like shattered terrain. I know 4% isnt that much either from the leviathan pants or the venril cloak but those slots those items are the best choices.

Not to create a new subject of the same theme...what are people's thoughts about proc items vs +crit and spell damage items on the wrists? I have Vzeerists and the Thule Bracelet from T7 and the soon-to-be-fixed Bracelet of Thuuga and it's essential twin Willbender of Drudhi-Kha (38 int, +2 crit, +80 sd). Vzeerist in particular would be tough to give up, given it's nice proc and overall rarity. But I am really trying to get my crit damage up and it's tough to do so keeping all these items from T7 (still using BCG, invoker ear, along with these wrist items). Any thoughts?

thanks

The death bringer belt is a nice option as well 2crit 60spell damage 40 int. but again the BCg is still better UNLESS some fable belt with like 4 spell crit and 90 spell damage comes out. even then crit and +damage caps out and procs do not.

The invoker ear should be replaced soon you might want to consider the PR crit earring.

Still using BCG here, I havn't seen anything worth giving it up for yet. I could bring my Spell crits up a percent or two but in the end i'll just be putting the BCG back on anyway since spell crits will be getting bigger boost per Item in further progression.

4 crit earring and the earring from maidens chamber with 65 spell damage and 2% reuse probably your best bet on earrings if you dont have crystal gift/earring of unkempt power.

Probably this issue has been addressed elsewhere already, but...

Someone mentioned BCG is good because conj is a fast-casting mage. I thought they changed the items so that they no longer have a % chance to cast, but rather are a flat x times/minute regardless of number of casts/hits? I know that is the case with melee weapons...delay/haste no longer matters for procs. Is that not true for cast procs?
