I am currently listed as a backup raider in my guild and am 2 kills away from my Mythical. I have read many posts and have received alot of great info WRT raiding.

I have not seen a post on the proper use of the Conjuror Mythical in a raid situation and have not see any "How to's" for it so if I missed that post, please point me in that direction and ignore this post..

Also, Please be gentle with your reply as EQ2 raiding is still fairly new to me and I am just planning ahead so when I start as full time raider, I don't embarass myself on the parse :-)

I know we can cast a mage pet but I have a couple questions:

1. With the Myth mage pet out, is that the only pet I can have out or is it an additional pet.

2. If I can only have one Mage pet out at a time, How long does the MYTH pet last? Per fight or until I die or it dies?

3. Do all the spells that compliment our Firey Magician also apply to the Myth mage pet?

Anything else I need to know with the use of the Mythical?.. any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated..

If you feel you must flame me then go ahead I guess lol.. I never claimed to be the all knowing and use this site as a main source of gathering info from all you more seasoned Conjy's.

Thanks

Hi Talsmar,

1- The myth pet is a master 4 version of the fire pet. Accordingly, you can either use it or another pet (tank for example). Generally once people get the myth they don't use the tank again as its more efficient to snare-kill.

2- Ditto - forever until you die

3- Yep Although the benefit of the 'aggressive' stance is debated

Key difference between it and your old fire pet is that the myth has hitpoints - accordingly it can take a few hits, either when soloing or from AEs in raids, so it is much more survivable... Once you get used to snare-killing when solo you will never look back...

Regarding the parse, remember that the pet is only a small portion of your dps, less than 1/3 to 1/4 depending on your gear choices and ability. Where you will see the biggest parse difference is on AE heavy fights, where the firepet would often have died or you would be constantly backing it off for bubble.

My 2 cents

Sherron

Thanks for the quick reply and the great info! I do pretty much always snare kite with soloing or duo-ing with my Warlock wife. Adept III Tank pet is a wuss and rarely used.

Thanks again..

Hi, I normally use communion and the mobs will normally die before the communion is even half over (hehe thats the mythical for ya). I wanted to know if anyone knows the macro/bind to have my communion pets attack the next target(without having to get hit). I have a friend that showed it to me once but I lost it and don't know how to get it back.
Thanks guys!

If you have each of your pets set to defend you, if you have communion running and you get smacked by something, they will attack it to the best of my knowledge.

It *is* pet dependent. So if you are using your mage, and you have earth set to defend and air not to, when communion is running if you get hit, your earth pet will smack it, and your air pet will stand there like a moron .

Some advice to help out your pet's DPS immensely on named fights with bad reactives:

Configure ACT to trigger whenever your pet takes damage to a debuff reactive. Most named fights in TSO have some sort of arcane or elemental reactive that deals damage, and you can configure ACT to pick up on this. That way you know your pet needs a cure immediately. The only TSO fight I've seen that you can't do this is Xebnok.

Obviously it doesn't help us when the reactive is trauma or noxious...
