Healer pet in general - I have it on my solo'ing aa spec (use mirror). mainly for a little bump when using communion, or when actually controlling an alt instead of powerleveling it.

edit - soloing it won't heal you enough to kill anything heroic and groups it doesn't do near enough to even be considered the backup healer (at least last time I tried it in t7 instances).

How well does it work for you grouped / mentored with a lowbie?

mentoring to a mid 30's guardian I can chain pull (controlling the guard) yellow and orange solo grouped mobs until power runs out. haven't tried anything harder, just do that occassionally to keep skills up so I don't have gain 400 skill points once max level.
