Default Hydromancer Pet

I am not sure of the correct way to use this pet.
Should I put her in defensive stance?
Cast Balzing Maifestation?
Elemental Unity?
Pet Attack?
I use this pet occasionaly outside of Communion where I have no options and just wondered what everyone else is doing?

I have no clue why you even have this ability...

We are not healers, and those points could be better spent on DPS modifications in your AA. If you have your mythical already then I guess you have a few more AA to use since you don't really need foundations anymore...

but to answer your question, it's a defensive stance and forget pet, it will raid heal and ward without doing anything to it. You can attempt to have it attack you target but it really has no offensive stuff worth much that I can remember.

My suggestion, would be to just slap it on defensive stance and send it in to attack target as normal but don't expect it to help you parse any.

Naw, I dint expect anythng on parse. I am trying to kill Phrotis and one of the walkthroughs says try healer pet ....so, I'm trying.
I just hate to send the pet out and just hope for the best if there was anything I could do.

Tank pet, respec for max stam and wisdom, throw in some str line and your tank pet should hold aggro easy.. all it has to do it hold aggro while you concentrate on clicking the elementals... the elementals will do all the damge to phrotis, only thing you need to worry about is a stoneskin on the pet and a few heales while you click... phrotis dead..

I used Hydromancer for Phrotis. It came in handy when he decided to teleport and nail me for a few thousand damage every so often. Plus it helps to mitigate his spell just a little bit. The tank pet just can't withstand a long onslaught against him, and I found getting the pet to hold aggro to be more trouble than it's worth.

Just snare him and kite him around he is a big puss. Dont use your hydromancer as main pet, maybe only in communion.

Oddly enough he's sufficiently slow as it is. Winds of Velious didn't seem to affect his movement speed at all when I fought him. And it still didn't protect you from his random teleports and spell.

By the way, get your cold resists up, it helps.

since i have my mythical i have specced hydromancer and maxed aa points into plane shift, especially now that the GU44 changes have come about, and my self buffed recast on plane shift is all of 7 mins 27 seconds. Heals and aoe avoid can't hurt when you cast communion. I would not use it as my main pet though.

I have it in my solo build there it is nice and it was useful for phrotis. Did the same thing as xalmat. Just run in circles, waterpet will keep your hp up.
