hi i just got a g15 and i was wondering id anyone has a casting macro for there g15. i also wanted to know if anyone knew the codeing for it i have it sitting at bestbuy waiting for me to pick it up so i havent even read the instructions and such yet.

g15 and eq2 are completely compatable i believe? i.e you dont need to download any patchs, i doubt there any macros that will realy improve your dps or gameplay. Maybe for solo/raid gear?

Hmmm, if I had the uber keyboard, I'd probably macro pet casting and buffing cause pressing one macro button beats pressing several hotkeys :P Then again, I guess soh lag would throw that idea out the window!

Aside from that, can't really think of any use for those macros.

from what i saw on the zerker fourms just now that there is a way to set up the casting of all your spells with the delays and even with lag it will still cast the spells due to the spells already being sent. but i have no idea how and such

Yes this is possible, yes it works, yes it can get you in trouble if the zone is lagged and you on loop macro..(you don't get it turned of in time). essentially you are going to have to start from the beggining and create a macro with a spell casting order that you want, go in and manually insert the delay's between spells you wish to cast (this is the cast time of the spells (plus .025 seconds) and then link it to a G15 key. what this doesn't allow you to do is adapt to the situation at hand and be fluid to the encounter. (Note you have to do some math and figure out at what time CB and Effigy will be back up and put them back into roataion.. this takes some time to do so don't get frustrated if your macro doesn't work without some tweaking and peaking) It is good if you don't have it looped and it's your say first round of fast casters to pop them out there .. lets say mob is incoming.. you cast your pre- spells and communion.. then the trouby cast Perfection.. you can pop the macro that has your fast casters macro'd and wallah.. you can get some pretty decent effectiveness on things like that..

I don't use the macro myself, I have built them in the past and used them in T7 for some fights, currently they are frowned upon and not suggested in our raid since it takes away your ability to react quickly.. (Note when macro is running you have to stop it before you can do anything else.. move.. crouch.. de-aggro pet..anything)

I would caution anyone on over using it as like anything else it will rusty up you skills.

Only thing the G keyboards are good for is buffing. For my conjy I only have 2 macro buttons configed. One for All Buffs + Mage Pet, and one for just the Mage pet.

The macro is good for wipe, then casting full buffs, all while on a bio break.

Wouldn't really suggest setting up spell casting macros. Too much changes during a group / raid.

I 3 box, and the nostromo's have basically the same software as the G15. That's where you can get funky with the spell casting setups...

khylan do you have any of them saved i kinda wanted to get a feel on how the script works. i understand that it takes a .2 sec delay for the keyboard to activate the next command. and when i opened the box i didnt see any instructions on the macro system im currently at work so i cant read look on the cd that came with it. if not i might have to do some more reserch on how to program it.

Sorry, had to be a smart #$#.

Make sure you have the latest version of the G-Series Keyboard Profiler (Help->Internet-> Check for updates)

Select the Profle, Click on the G-Key, Assign Macro... and edit or create a new macro.

Record your macro, but check "Record delays between events". Set up your macro. Then go back through and edit your delays to the right time by clicking on them and entering what you want. It takes a bit of tweaking but once you get a good timing it works.

Seriously, my only macros are like the one I listed above for chat. I think I'll try making the pet re-buff so I can be lazy. Props for that idea above.

There is a new feature in the latest G15 software where you can place text into a text box, and then you can set the universal delay between keys. I've tried this and it works wonderfully. Also saves on time by not having to adjust each delay.
