Yeah all of eq1 never used vent/ts and here in eq2 preety much whole time with FoH up till the disband vent/ts wasnt used.So raiding with out vent is very possible.And hell in confirmed vent is mostly used as social convo.

I think the only raid bosses we pet pull, it's because of our positioning. And even then it's almost always with Templar hammer, or shaman dog. Might pull trash in some zones with a mage pet, but I always make sure mine is Vehement Gem'd and has Intervention up first, just in case.

EQ1 raids without voice chat were deh suk! But we trudged through it because, mainly, most people didn't have a good enough computer to run EQ and a voice program. And it was a very long time before it was practical to run EQ in a window as well. Nowadays its kind of silly not to use Vent or Teamspeak if you can help it imo.

The reason we use Conjurer to pet pull is cause I refuse to do it when there is a Conjurer in the raid.

The pet pulling/bruiser spawning is a relic from when we first started doing PR and it just kinda stuck with us. Why change a winning concept?
However, the tank has started to pull on his own more and more.

The odd group setups is cause we had too many mages/too few scouts on those raid-nights and well, someone had to get a crappy setup. But the rotation has been kinda fair. When I get a Dirge group instead of Troub group I just pop up my Scout pet and have fun with it.
It's summer time, attendance is slightly dodgy atm.
Besides, DPS isn't as important as the mob actually dying.
(DPS isn't as important as it is looking good while doing it )

Crappy groups just sometimes happen. I think most people can understand that. As long as you understand that a Conjuror in a non mage group suffers substantially over a Necromancer in a non mage group.

Have your Shaman pet pull with the spirit dog, or your Templars with the hammer. Its the same result, only no DPS dies. If the mob dies faster, then you've succeeded.

Yea, conjurors do get something to "help" the melee, however, conjurors are also much more reliant on a troubador (along with other aforementioned classes) than a necro imo.

I would argue that Conjurors are the most dependent mage, possibly the most dependent DPS overall in EQ2.
