What's missing there are exact numbers for crit regarding that a crittet spell will at least do max damage +1. The only spell that is really affected by that is seismic. I also calculated that back than but can't find it. I think we got around 34% from crits when you use seismic every 20 secs (if you have no +damage). So if you want to know how much damage you get from crit, you have to take in account how many percent of your damage is affected by crit, how much +damage you have und the damage spread. With some spells capped, crit will bring maybe 25%, it will affect 45% of your damage (numbers are just estimates). That would mean
dps for 1% crit = (total dps*(0,25*0,45))/100.
So for 5k total dps you get 5-6 dps per crit.
So taking your 5% crit Item, that would mean 25-30 dps. Now you can compare that with the damage of a proc from a zonewide and you know which item is better (zonewide=5k for this calculation).
