Default +Spell damage vs INT

Hi,

When it comes to gear upgrades, I was wondering if 1 INT is = to 1 +Spell damage. In other words would it be better to replace a currently equipped item that is 15 INT with one that has no INT but +13 spell damage?

If not can someone please explain or point me in the direction of where I can get a breakdown of the difference btwn the both..

It is hard to find ring upgrades at my level (53) that have both INT and +Spell damage. All the ones I have seen seem to have +combat art damage with INT.

Thanks in advance..

You won't find significant amounts of +Spell Damage until you get to your high 60s and early 70s. That's just how itemization is.

It will all depend what your stats already are so you will need to work on the calculations your self with adding/removeing int.

There is a curve of diminshing returns on bonuses from stats along with other modifiers in game.+Spell damage is linier and doesnt follow any type of diminshed returns what you add is what ya get.

aye, you are trying to compare apples and oranges. INT is still very important, but like others said, there is diminishing returns, which makes it less important the more you have. For example:

In case you aren't familiar with diminishing returns:
You are at 500 int. You add another 50 int and each spell gains an additional 45 damage

Later, you are at 900 int. You add another 50 int and each spell gains an additional 15 damage.
(numbers are made up and aren't actual damage gains)

But, +damage has a cap to it, so you can't just keep piling that on and thinking that there is no end.
