So I have an 80 conji but I havent played it in forever. I was logged into it the other day though since for a 80 conji,,,he makes a damn fine sage/transmuter, and I dicided to take a look at the Shard armor and had to ask. Does it help?

My gear is good for a caster,,,,I raided alot with this toon in T8 early on with a good raid guild til they fell apart. ALOT of the stuff I have is better for pure caster than the shard stuff. Like SO is it worth it to give up +5 crit gloves for +2 crit shard gloves becuase they give a buff to the pet for instance.

Not sure if I will ever play the conji again even if it was my first love but id still like to have hoim well outfited.

I use the shard gear. If you don't raid, it is probably the best set in the game for summoners. IMO, we have one of the best tier 1 shard sets in the game.

Xalmat

There are better non-raid pieces than the Aramid set for some slots, but they're few and far between, and pretty darn difficult to get by comparison.

Robe of the Undying is better than the robe, but drops off Varsoon, the hardest non-raid mob this expansion.

Dark Mail Gauntlets is much better than the gloves, and is the result of a heritage quest.

Glowing Mask is better than the aramid hood, and drops in Guk: Halls of the Fallen.

However there are pieces that are very difficult to replace for a non-raider.

The shoulder piece is the 2nd best in the game, and should be a top priority for all summoners.

The legs are one of the better leg pieces out there, with almost no upgrade for a non-raider.

The boots are excellent, and difficult to upgrade.

I kept the vp set boots over the arimid boots. I use those and my trak robe to keep my two set bonus. Untill I can get that robe from varsoon then I'm gonna say good bye trak robe :-p

Well I'll prolly put it in the apperance slot as its one of the best looking robes in the game imo.
