Default Mythical Pet and Communion

I was wondering if anyone else thought communion should bring out your mage pet while you're using your mythical pet...

I mean, after all, the mythical pet is not a controllable pet you have "knowledge" of because it's not in your "knowledge" book. It's a clicky on an item and should be treated as such. I mean, if you sold your mythical....no more myth pet.

No. For the purpose of Communion, the Mythical pet is treated as the Fire pet. Therefore you only get Earth, Air, and Water if you have Hydromancer.

When you cast Communion with any other pet out, it will summon the appropriate Fire pet, not the Mythical pet.

I know the Myth pet is treated as the fire pet, but I don't think it should be. The communion spell states it summons all pets that the caster has knowledge of. Well, the Myth pet isn't in the knowledge book so why should it be treated as such?

Because the Mythical pet is a Master 4 Fire pet perhaps? It's also affected by AAs that affect the Mage pet.

I'll have to recheck tonight, but I've don't recall ever having seen the hydromancer come out on a communion cast.

If you have Hydromancer and you aren't seeing it, you're not paying attention.
