I don't remember when they nerfed the scout pet, but I used to primarily solo with scout and frigid winds. If I recall correctly, during DoF I was able to easily kite even con triple ups with the scout pet. I am fairly certain those days are long gone. Kind of a shame if you ask me.

I just picked up my 70 conj that has been shelved since before RoK came out. Wow, what a sad difference. The scout is completely useless against RoK mobs. Full stop. Even the tank pet is pretty meh. Tank+offensive yields good results, but it needs burning manifestation or elemental vestment to hold agro. Tank+defensive is just terrible. Slower kills and I can easily rip agro from it. Mage + snare is good, but man do I hate kiting. It makes me feel like a filthy EQ1 necro. /wrist

Pretty sure that Burning Manifestation aggro is given to the conjuror. I often get aggro when I cast that spell, send the tank pet in, and it procs right away even without me casting any other spells. (I suppose it could be the fireshield or fire seed but those really shouldn't be more aggro than even the auto-attack of the tank pet.) Elemental Vestment, I'm not sure.

I definitely remember in RoK that I had to start letting my pet build up aggro at first. I started using that AA taunt in the Stamina line a whole lot more. But I also had crappy gear (not having been at the level cap before RoK came out) and so I wasn't likely to pull aggro. Once you start getting decent quest rewards with all the + spell damage on it then you'll really start pulling aggro. I suggest casting the snare on every mob even when not kiting. :P

yup. If you cast it right after combat has started, then you get a small 'buff agro' that can peal it if your pet hasn't done anything yet.

Ok, I guess that's what I am seeing...it seemed like it would happen regardless of when I cast the buff.
