Well in the next expansion they're supposedly increasing KoS AA limit by 20 so I'd imagine some people specing agi line for the double attack at least. Will have to see how the extended AA stuff looks to be sure though.

That only matters if the scout pet actually gets fixed to be useful in more areas and not suck at all AE encounters. Until that happens I just can't see worrying about the points as long as the lines are locked to pets.

I'm hoping their refocus includes totally removing the suck from so many classes that need to be addressed. I'd gladly deal with a pushed back expansion if my necro, inquis and troub would have less of their current potential rendered useless by the game.

edit: btw since I saw it mentioned on our forums-- our swarm pets don't benefit from chime of blades or any group buffs right?

Here's what was shown at Fan Faire.



Basically each KoS tree would be getting a second end ability, with a final end ability encompassing the entire tree.

The current plan, which is subject to change, is 20 more points in the KoS tree, 20 more points in the EoF tree, and 10 more in the TSO tree. The TSO tree is not expected to change at all, so it would just be 10 more points you can spend in the tree.

* End abilities of the new branches will work off a chain of events.
* Chains can be anything from avoiding an attack twice in a row to combinations of abilities.
* Completing a chain will then successfully execute an innate ability.
* The additional EoF tree abilities will likely look like the TSO tree.

I knew how it worked/looked, just if the abilities are worth spending points on :P And why didn't you guys get them to overhaul our lines to make them affect us too?!

Question as I don't have a high level summoner...In eq1 could u not put weapons and armor on pets? I think that would rock...buff up the pets with raid loot or instance loot for pets...i am totally against nerfing classes to bring other classes up...

All it would do here is increase summoner itemization headaches and cause balance issues. In Eq1 it worked because there was summoned gear and when the pet went away, everything it had poofed.

Well Fyreflyte said he would love to see pet-specific weapons and armor that we could equip to our pet. Unfortunately it's not likely to happen, and especially not without significant development time.

You could just give petbuff items with un-nerfed summoner stats for 'pet items'. And add regular stats to that buffs too. Oh well, looks like sharing stats with the pet, actually.

Pet gear in EQ1 was a bit of a pain in the ass. The only way I would ever want to see pet weapons again is if we actually had a pet weapon tab in our inventory so that when we cast a pet it would equip whatever we had in the pet inventory.

It takes too long as it is to cast a pet with buffs when it dies. Add in having to equip it with weapons and it would just take forever to get up and running.
