Attackers that over match the conjuror may be too powerful to ignore the prevention. This ability is not upgradable.
EMBERHIVE 
Augments the Players weapon with an ember hive that has a chance to swarm the target( 3-5 stacks?). (Possible small ember hornet swarm for graphic)

An augmentation placed by the conjuror on an ally that grants a chance to deal heat damage over time with every attack. If the opponent dies while under this impairment, it will deal instant heat damage to the encounter.This effect can be stacked multiple times.

An augmentation placed on an ally that has a chance to absorb physical damage and increase physical Mitigation for a short duration(12 sec.) after having taken any physical damage. This spell can only be maintained on a single ally.
These are some small adjustments I have been thinking of that would be incredibly easy to implement and give the conjurer much more desirability. Not only does it make sense to have a better heat damage proc. with stacking capabilities, but also the earth shield would be great for the tank pet since it has garbage mitigation.
The requirement of the concentration slot for the earth shield is a nice balance since the beefing up I would personally do to the Fire seed line would be more balanced on less players.
Perhaps the Ember hive would be better suited a group buff, I'm unsure.
This is 1 of 20 ideas (at least...) I could foresee with literally no addition or removal of Actual spells. All in all I would say this trumps any shitty Ideas I've seen coming out of the SOE factory.
