I think you have it backwards. So at rank 1 you would recieve 1% of the damage while your pet would recieve 92% of the damage, thus making other pets besides the tank pet not a good choice for this aa.

So you ask for our advice and I give it to you. Then you proceed to question my answer which brings me to the point of why did you even ask the question in the first place?
Here's why I'm right and you're wrong:
You cast the buff on your pet. Therefore the pet has the buff which is Perceptor's Bodyguard.
When the buff is activated it applies a 20% chance to intercept all physical damage on target. The target = you.
So, from that statement you can see that:
target = you
caster = pet
So caster (pet) takes 1% and target (you) take 92% of the damage.
