Thanks

Your post makes absolutely no sense.

First, it does not take an AE hit from you. It has a chance to intercept some physical damage that would have been done to you.

Second, the pet only receives a small % of the damage and you receive most of it.

At rank 1, you would receive 96% of the damage and your pet would receive 1%. The scaling is similar, at 4 ranks I think it was something like 4% and 60%.

This would hardly 1-shot your non tank pet... not even close. And at 8 ranks, it would be pretty effective to use for tanking with the mage pet out.

When I had this to 4 ranks pre-eof, it made soloing Nest and Poets with the mage pet a bit easier.

Are you a raiding conjuror? If you're not a raider, or you're just trying to learn about the AA, no problem. If you ARE a raider, I don't really recommend this line of AA's.

Tr.

Now I don't have this ability yet, but from the description of it in game it says that on casting target (aka your pet) has a percent chance to intercept damage from the Perceptor (you).

I think you have it backwards. So at rank 1 you would recieve 1% of the damage while your pet would recieve 92% of the damage, thus making other pets besides the tank pet not a good choice for this aa.

Does anyone know the percentages from 2-8 points in this ability?

Hm. I'm not spec'd that way but it seems like each rank will decrease pet damage by 8% and give you 1 % of it? So I guess at 8 ranks, that would be a 64% reduction in pet damage, and a 8% transfer to the summoner. This is just a guess.

1 - I've had this ability before.
2 - You never have and are unsure.

So you ask for our advice and I give it to you. Then you proceed to question my answer which brings me to the point of why did you even ask the question in the first place?

Here's why I'm right and you're wrong:

You cast the buff on your pet. Therefore the pet has the buff which is Perceptor's Bodyguard.

When the buff is activated it applies a 20% chance to intercept all physical damage on target. The target = you.

So, from that statement you can see that:

target = you
caster = pet

So caster (pet) takes 1% and target (you) take 92% of the damage.
