Default Best Conj gear setups

Saw this post on the necro forums and thought it would make a good topic here, so lets discuss.

Heres a list of some of the best choices out there, so lets see what you think.

Head: I would think Breath of the Destroyer is still the best choice unless ur going for the 7 set piece bonus.

Chest: This is a slot that is up for discussion. I'd say Robe of Al'kabor but I still see many mages that have killed avatars still in that dumbass nest robe, maybe becuase robe hasnt dropped or something. Robe of the Blackwind really isnt that great compared to the Robe of Al'Kabor but I would wear it over nest robe. Or ur Silent Incantations BP if your going for set bonus.

Shoulders: Mantle of the Clairvoyent or Cowl of the Crypt.

Cuffs: Ancient Bracers of the Codex or Insultated Sleeves of Focus.

Hands: Gloves of Sagacity ... or gloves of Zal'Naz if you want a dumbass debuff proc

Belt: Don't be stupid, you know what goes here.

Pants: Pantaloons of Mystical Silk...

Boots: Vine-Wrapped Boots or Robe of Al'kabor .. 333 Point Ward is stupid and I think the proc on the Vine-wrapped beats the 2% spell crit. I would think Vine-Wrapped boots wins this contest. Maybe Slippers of the Zal'Naz for the power proc too.

Neck: Necklace of Pain I would think.. dunno what beats that .. if you dont have necklace of pain then deff MoA.

Earrings: Hmm lots of things that could go here .. You can always wear that collection quest earring. Other good slots of course could be Brainworm for regen, Hollow Fang Earspike if you want the debuff proc. And of course theres the Avatar earrings .. Earring of Unkempt Power and Hoop of Planar Power. Remnant of the Chime is a possibility but if you dont want ur pet to die thats what /pet ranged, vehement gem and intervention are for.

Rings: Choices also vary somewhat here, could do x2 Ring of Supremecies, Ring of the Four Winds is nice, Band of Braided Vines for +35 Spell damage or i guess Chaos Etched ring if you want another dumbass debuff proc.

Wrist: Sash of Draining and Wristbands of Lost Knowledge. Aumulet of the Resolute Servant and Band of Superiority for Regen. And of course there is the Bracelet of Thule.

Secondary/Ranged: Necromantic Orb of the Death Reveler, Fitzpitzles Misty Protector, Blood of the Brood Watcher and Dark Orb of the Mind are best choices.

Primary: Staff of Light or Darkwand of the Chosen no doubt, but that is avatar/contested mayong and I understand not everyone can kill those mobs, so Dagger of the Arcane Right is best after those.

Well those are some of the ideas that I had, if you don't agree please don't flame I'm really just trying to get peoples opinions so please post what you think.

The vine wrapped boots are a TON better then the avatar boots. Figure 1% crit chance = .3% increase in dps. Figure with our spell haste we should be able to get boots to proc 1x every 28 secs, so 21s off, 7s on; aka you'll have the effect for ~25% of the time. now, i've read (haven't confirmed yet) that the boots actually give a 3% increase in dmg, not 10%...

if 3% increase, then 3% * 1/4 = 1.2%, or the same as 4% crit increase
if 10% increase, then 10% * 1/4 = 2.5% or almost the same as 9% crit increase

the avatar boots have 2% crit increase.

so yea, vine wrapped boots FTFW!

Vine wrapped boots are normalized to cast time, do not effect procs and any buff type spells such as blazing avatar, and quite frankly suck. They are better than nothing, but your MUCH better off getting the orb from contested mayong as a secondary/range and pretending the boots do not exsist. Slippers of Zal'naz or Boots of Al'kabor depending on your power regen needs. Vine wrapped boots only if you do not have the secondary/range orb from mayong, have 2 power regen classes, and dont have the alkabor boots either.

The al'kabor robe is basically meh at best for a conjuror. Why would you EVER use it if there was even the slightest chance you could run low on power in a chail pull or long fight scenerio? Spell haste? Almost all our dmg spells are capped. Resistability? I dont get resisted ever, less than 1% of the time on zonewides and most of that is pyreshield. The up to 100 dmg is the only decent thing on this robe for a conjuror and that doesnt even come close to the value of the proc on the nest robe. Bottom line, unless you have 2 power regen in your group, you should not be using the al'kabor robe.

For earring the best choice is mystical orb of the invoker and Earring of Unkempt power. Hoop of planar power is nice, but 2% crits doesnt come close to the value of 15% spell reuse, with, wich our fast cast spells is up damn near 100% of the time. Basically with this earring we do better than time compression by ourselves.

Other than that, its common sense and there certantly didnt need to be a post on it.
