Default Group setup

Went into FTH the other day.

Usually the group I am in is.

Fury
Wizard
Warlock
Conjy
Troub
Illusionist

Last week we were messing with group setups.

I think it was.

Illusionist
Ranger
Inquisitor
Dirge
Conjy (me)
Swashy

My DPS was down almost 500-600, pretty much the same people we brought in the previous week, our overall raid DPS was up about 2k over our last trip.

Didn't die, didn't do anything differently than I normally do. I had the illusionist buffs, it was odd, some fights I parsed normally, some very low (again using the same casting order I always do)

Does the troub really make that much of a difference? I figured I would be down a bit but not that much

Trying to split our groups a bit, I left the Wizzy and warlock in the mage group for the dehate from the troub which I don't need as much.

Yeah thought about that also, wizzy has gift, can't think of what warlock would offer.

I guess just curious if anyone else gets stuck like this as well? I am the raid leader so I can put myself wherever I want to but if the overall raid dps goes up, guess it's just time to take one for the team.

Proc mods and casting skills from the Warlock.

True but if you take the wizzy and or warlock out of that group IMO wouldn't they suffer more than the Conjy would benefit since they would be dead most of the time from aggro.

Not really true at all, but to each his own. The lock would need a deaggro, but Wizzies don't have it as bad as they'd like us to believe.
Try a
Fury
Ranger
Shadowknight
Conjuror
Wizard
Troubador.

I like the way that group is set up. Everyone pretty much maximizes on everything they have. There are others, and probably some that others think are better or worse. But if I was running a raid, I'd at least compare this one to your other makeups, and see how it goes.

Default Re: Group setup

Ideally each group should be giving you the following group and temporary buffs, though this being LDL I suspect not everyone in your raid force is sitting at 100 AA :

Group 1
INT Buff (Fury)
Vim (Fury)
INT Buff (Wiz/Illus)
Aria of Acclimation (Troub)
Precision of the Maestro (Troub)
Synergism (Illus)
Frigid Gift (Wiz)
Propagation (Warlock - Proc increase)

Group 2
INT Buff (Illus)
Synergism (Illus)
Time Compression (Illus)
Luck of the Dirge (Dirge - Proc increase)

Should obviously be parsing higher in group 1, but not by 500-600. From what you are saying about parsing really low on some fights, you were probably just unlucky and getting bit by the pet LOS bug quite frequently that trip without noticing. Used to get that myself a lot in FTH before I figured out what the problem was.

Basically, if the line of sight between your pet and the mob is blocked when you tell it to attack, it will go into its attack stance but not cast anything. This can sometimes be a big problem in FTH with all the pillars and doorways if you send your pet in too early. If this happens, telling your pet to attack again won't fix it. Casting Call Servant seems to be the only way to break the bug. Check the parse breakdown of the fights where you parsed abnormally low - I bet your pet's spells and procs are either very low or not showing up at all. Using Call Servant while positioning yourself for the pull, and waiting until you have a good line of sight on the mob to send you pet in will pretty much eliminate this problem.

Sure he should be about 500-600 higher with group 1. Why? Because a troubadour alone adds 500-600 to my dps, sometimes more.

The proc from an inquisitor and the proc increase for a dirge (plus the extra melee dmg wich does add up a bit) wont come close to what you would get from a wizard and warlock duo either.

The vim buff is really negligeable unless your intelligence level is retarded low........for a level 60 character...........

Troubadour > all when it comes to conjurors.

Hehe, true Ishbu. I should have qualified it by saying the Mangar, Rorion's Conjuror, probably wouldn't be parsing 500-600 higher in that setup. His raid crew, while a good bunch of folks, aren't exactly hardcore high-end raiders (nobody really is on LDL outside of Strike.) I'd bet money that the Wizard is Fire/Manaburn spec'd and the Warlock has Aftershock instead of Propagation. Plus Rorion is still a bit of a Conjuror n00b, though improving (no offense intended, Rorion ) Based on what he said, I'm pretty sure the LoS bug is the culprit in this case.
