Need nub conj advice
Let me start off by saying I pretty much suck at this class, have no clue about how to play it effectively, and my conj has gear so shitty it is mostly treasured.
Now that we have my shortcomings identified, help me understand how to keep my pet from getting owned on each and every pull with AE mobs. Yes, I'm using /pet ranged, but that doesn't seem to make much of a difference.
On a DT alt raid yesterday, I couldn't keep my mage pet alive through a single evil eye mob, and I'm pretty sure both me and my pet were at max distance all during the fights.
How do you keep your pet from getting owned when you are at distance and using /pet ranged even?
Thanks for advice.

Re: Need nub conj advice
I have trouble keeping my pet alive on the eyes too, because nobody times the aes on the eyes, cause its dt and nobody cares.
If vehement gem is up hit that after you send your pet in, if its down just dont send your pet in at all ( that is if you have bubble ). If you dont have bubble yet just send your pet in anyways cause its gonna die >.>
On other mobs such as mayong, rumbler/ other EH mobs that ae, and avatars the best way to keep your pet alive is to listen for someone calling the timers on AEs. I have pet back off as my 1 key, and pet attack as my 2 key .. when the AE is incoming in 5 or whatever i just hit 1 and wait till it hits.

Re: Need nub conj advice
In regards to those stupid eyeballs, just try to time the ae as best u can and back off your pet when you know it's coming. That is, if you have Bubble from EoF tree. Like the above poster said, if you don't have bubble, don't worry about back it off. Also, you can use Intervention, which lasts for 30 secs, and auto-rez's and heals pet if he dies.
Also, be sure to spam /pet ranged b/c it doesn't always work, and the pet still gets closer than max range, sometimes goes up to melee. So with AE mobs that will 1-shot the pet, spam /pet ranged.
Vehement Gem, however, wont work on the eyeballs b/c Gem absorbs melee attacks, not magic ones.
Ps- If you don't have Bubble....get it

Re: Need nub conj advice
Get bubble and when eye comes in dont send pet right away wait for dot to trigger.after it goes off then send pet.
Even when pets gets hit by AE i have seen it 1 shot pet rarely. Useually have time to throw heal to pet to try keep him up and pet sometimes resists it fully.
If pet isnt one shotted just throw a heal or 2 if wasnt group cured fast enough. Also can use clicky staff with 40% pet heal.

Re: Need nub conj advice
bubble and running your own act to watch timers not being called is the ticket.
On pull when the pet starts casting cast intervention if there are no group aoe immunes up and hopefully you get the aoe timer started.

Re: Need nub conj advice
You can keep your pet in on Gazers no problem, you just have to know that the pet's max effective range is pretty much at the line where your green AE's will be at their maximum. Find that spot and Call Servant to put the pet on your position, and barring any movements by the mob, you'll be fine.
The thing is /pet ranged doesn't always work, especially if the pet has LOS but is only in range to use its direct damage spells. It will sometimes run forward, albeit too far, to be able to use its green AE's.
Most AE's you can max range. I think the only one in KoS that I have to use Bubble on is Curor (Bard AOE avoidance, or if not possible I Bubble + Self Stoneskin and then just Bubble and use Cure Pots if a second one hits)
EoF ones that I have to Bubble are Mayong's Blanket of Eternal Night, Rumbler's/Gardener/Farstrider/Prince/Galiel/Grovebeast/Woushi and of course Avatars/PHH/C-Mayong. Everything else can be max ranged. Treyloth's Reaching Rot will hit your pet, but Searing Rot won't, so as long as it stays with the raid or a bit forward it'll be fine.
Vehement Gem, Intervention and a better AOE avoidance AA is why we're cooler than Necro's. AOE? What's that?

Re: Need nub conj advice
I have a question about bubble... Lets say your pet is fighting and you have an AE incoming. Does bubble take effect (provided youre close enough to the pet) as soon as you hit the "back off" key or do you have to wait until it has its weapons put away and is stationary next to you? I sort of test the clock in raids and although I have come to no concrete conclusions, it seems my pet will still take dirt naps when its on its way back to me. Any answers or thoughts would be helpful. Thx
