Hmm so you've run out of power, and at that time Rake and Dispatch BOTH refreshed, and then you mashed a shard, but your shard casts were 0/3, cause you wasted it beforehand, since you obviously SHOULDN'T have used it until you needed it, but you used it anyway, so you send a tell to your Conjuror, he casts a shard, you use it and debuffed the mob. By this time, you have fucked the raid cause the raid has been probably about a minute now without Rake or Dispatch on the mob, because you didn't use your shard wisely.

So REALLY, it would have served the raid A SHIT-TON better for you to know how to conserve power, use the shard/heart wisely, and not wait until the last second to fuck with your Conjuror/Necro, right?

If you pull agro and die should you not get anyones buffs till you stop chain pulling and get ready for a named? Its your fault you died and you are ruining the people who give you buffs DPS.

Please ignore spelling and grammer errors work is crazy today.

Yes, I should get buffs when I die. Buffs are different from shards. Shards do not enhance anything. They allow someone to be a slightly lazier player, by not managing power, but they do not directly affect DPS, heals, or anything. Buffs, such as Synergism for example directly raise my DPS. They directly affect my output as a DPS class. HUGE difference there.

There is a huge difference between indirect and direct buffing, especially when an indirect buff I cast LOWERS my DPS and doesn't result in a net gain of DPS. My hypothetical was in response to your nonsense about a few hundred power = a few thousand DPS. Get a few pieces of FT gear. Problem solved.

Again, though for some reason, people think we are modrod bitches STILL to this day, including some Conjurors. Its a ridiculous concept to think that our job on a raid is to cast shards. Well, and CotH. We are not a buffing class, and not a utility class. We are a DPS Class that gets a few spells that assist others. The shard spell is cast when I get to the raid. MT-MT healers-Other healers-Others as requested. I don't spend time on AFKs casting them, and I don't get there extremely early. If I am early, then more shards cast.

This is why I want them to get rid of some of the complete SHIT EoF AAs, and instead of lowering the recast on the shard, make each rank=one more person in the group you are casting the shard on.

I think Izzdar's point is valid. Debuffs on the mob make it die faster, and then the overall power needs for the raid go down. If one shard for a debuffer makes the mob die 30 seconds faster, that could be 3 healers and a tank I don't have to shard. I don't know why you'd run out of shards during a fight, though, unless you're clicking them during the whole fight, instead of only when you've been power drained, etc.

The rogues in my guild infrequently ask for shards during fights. The bards do on named fights, though; they can't use that mental core breach.

I really look down on people when they are crying for my little 200 power shard over and over when they haven't bothered getting their mana stone, aren't using mental core breach, don't have the power book from claymore questline, draconomancer gloves, 3princes wand, are not wearing their gown of glory, don't have their vessel, etc. Basically if you haven't put forth effort to help meet your own power needs you're telling the raid you're a selfish bitch, and you should feel ashamed.

Try to remember that your power management issues are not a summoner's problem. Shards are not for bettering your dps, they are for emergencies.

I hate shards with a passion, so I'm like a prude 12 year old with them shits.

I try to cast em before a raid starts, or if I'm sittin around scrathcin my ass during some down time, but unless I'm just in a really good mood that's it. I'm not a fucking enchanter or bard, I'm not there to make up for your lack of self control, I'm there to get drunk and talk dirty to the ladies in Vent.

I have to explain to my guildies from time to time that if they ask for a shard they'll get it on my time. I'm not runnin around during a fight looking for anyone. The only people I'll shard in a fight ever are in the MT group, and like I said earlier, that's only if I'm in a good mood.

My guild hates me as well, go figure right?

*edit* cept for some stupid mana draining fights and shit like that i'll take one for the team *

If a brigand is going to be low on power they should have asked for a shard before the pull or switched to mental breach. There is no real excuse for starting a fight where you will NEED more power without a fresh shard. During combat healers and the tank get shards, the others get one if i feel like it, but usually I dont.

I have to manage my power they can manage theirs.

My raids typically consist of chain pulling through trash, where there isnt time to regen power. There isn't a lot of time to 'cast shards during afks or between pulls'. Generally we only pause long enough before a named to get to full power, if we pause at all. You might clear slow in your guild and then your advice would be practical.

As for ignoring people during a fight... Come on... The people who are asking for shards during my guild's fights are debuffers, healers, and tanks. You ignore their power needs and you are a retard.

Anyway, SOE, please give us some type of group or raid wide shard spell.
Not really worth talking to people who call others retarded just because they do stuff differently. Read my post and tell me you change targets forth and back in trash fights because you refuse to use the UI and think it is more important to give everyone shards all the time than casting.

And yes we clear slow, 5 instances in one evening inclusive FTH, yar guess thats to slow for people like you.

Wondering who the retard is here

Ugh, my conjy is the only summoner in the raid so I get stuck beforehand passing them out.

The only time I pass them out while fighting is if it is a really long fight otherwise I tell them to wait.

Man, reading this thread gives me a headache. Is it really that hard to toss off a shard to someone in need? Sure, power conservation is VERY important and if I'm getting shard requests while clearing trash I check to make sure that person has drink running. But on named we use the 'start early' method of shard/heart usage. Hell, if you wait until your below 10% power to start using them then that will hurt your DPS far more than anything else. Maybe my guild is just good about not needing shards, I know even over the longest fights my power never dips below 75% on my defiler and my conjuror is always in supply of shards. *evil grin*
